Thinking of buying but google resulted showed something I am kind of worried about

Hello,

Love Avatar but have never played any of the games. I watched a couple gameplay videos about this game and saw a few times that people mentioned that there is a DLC that is needed to run this game. I also saw a couple post saying that they removed this but couldnt say for sure.

Firstly, am I able to play it without the DLC
Is the DLC necessary to enjoy the game.
Is this out of date information? Is the game okay to play now without the dlc?
Was this a bug or was it intended.
Will there be other DLCs coming out for this game that may cause the same issue?
Was the ending of this game acceptable or will it hurt my feelings?

I only have the base game, and it works just fine. And the world is beautiful. I have seen some say that their systems crash when playing this, or any Ubisoft game, but I haven't experienced anything like that, and I have a couple dozen Ubisoft games. The game is worth it, just make sure that your hardware is up to par.
