Also if you're limiting your fps to a certain value, that real render will be half of that, that is if you can hit the limit.
Nvidia recommends no less than 40fps before applying frame generation and AMD recommends no less than 60fps. Basically, DLSS FG can work lower without issues, although they both work better when starting with a higher base frame rate. Using frame gen to go from 30fps to achieve 60fps is abusing the technology because you end up with a 60fps that feels terrible due to higher than normal input lag (the thing that typically makes higher frame rates feel better to play than lower ones). The worst part is that developers are starting to go against the recommendations of AMD. Black Myth Wukong on PS5 has a “performance mode” that is using FSR 3 FG just to maintain 60fps, which is a misuse of the technology.
