Does this game have a forced Ubisoft Uplay?

I am thinking of buying this game, but I am worrying that I would have to go through hassle of dealing with 3rd party launchers.
When I am buying a game on Steam - I am expecting it to work out of the box, with no 3rd party layers and no middle-men, without extra launchers or creation of extra accounts. I just want to press "Play" and launch the game. I am too busy and tired to go through any extra actions. I just want to be able to play relax after a hard day of work and I won't be rewarding the developers who make my experience less convenient.

So I will ask. Does this game force players to register on ubisoft services in order to play it?

If no - I am buying it right away.

If yes - I won't buy it, unless Ubisoft removes uplay, just like Sony removed PSN from Helldivers 2

Very easy fix: Then don't buy it. They're not going to remove uplay because of you having a fit.

Use the UbiSoft launcher with NO issue all the time with at least 5 games out of my large UbiSoft game collection. Also use EPICs, GOG's, EAs, Amazon's, Battlefronts, Steam and a few others. The XBox one is screwed up and I cannot fix it.

Personally I hate any form of launcher including UbiSoft, but considering everything it seems many are making a mountain out of a molehill. Imagine some even like to jump on the latest trolling bandwagon and want to sound cool to their peers.

As stated by others....... if you struggle so much with their launchers then do not play their games.

Ubisoft is the game developer and owner.
Ubisoft provides servers for online multiplayer connectivity, steam does not provide anything useful, it is just bloatware and Additional DRM.
You can play the game without Crap Steam, but direct on ubisoft, you cannot play without Ubisoft, no matter where you buy the game.
FYI I brought the game day one on ubisoft connect.

Then what are you doing here on this forum? Ah, I forgot. Ubisoft uplay doesn't have nor player communities, nor reviews, nor discussions, nor guides, nor the workshop. You can only pay there.

FYI I brought the game day one on ubisoft connect.

Steam provides the best store for games and the best community experience with forums, profile pages, guides, workshop and reviews. Its a whole social network for gamers, and I am not signing up elsewhere for a game with 60% rating. I am more comfortable here, with a selection of 75,000 titles.
Developers at Sony understood that their forced PSN was redundant and removed it from Helldivers 2. Hopefully Ubisoft will decide to respect players choice as well

The point of my post is, if you ask a stupid question, you'll get a stupid answer.
Firstly, you could easily have searched the forum for the answer as people are making the
same lame threads en masse asking the same question over and over. A question that I'm sure you already knew the answer to, and if not, try "search the forum," or simply google it,
or look at the store page. It's written in plain sight.
There are SO many possibilities to find an answer to this.
Unless you've been living under a rock it's common knowledge that Ubisoft games come
with a launcher. It's not highly classified intelligence information kept in deep bunker vaults.
I hope that gave light to some of your wondering.

I was hoping that UbiSoft changed for better and decided to give up on their attempts to force their launchers on gamers, since many other publishers like Sony and Microsoft stopped this practice as well.
Also, the last time I played a ubisoft game was 6 years ago, and it was on PS4 where 3rd party launchers are not allowed and ubisoft had to comply.
