CD key is not available to activate the game

Cd key is not available when I go to activate the game preventing me from playing the game and when asking steam about this issue they are less than helpful, has anyone else experienced this?
Really wondering where I can find the CD key if anyone could help that would be much appreciated.

Hi Nigel, someone else on here said to close the Ubisoft launcher and open the game again. Worked for me. Good luck :)

That's what I did, choose Cancel and start the game again. Didn't get the request to enter a key the second time round.

A lot of us have had this issue including myself. Generally just try again and it will link the accounts automatically. You don't need a key, it links your steam and ubisoft accounts automatically so if it fails then cancel and try to launch the game again.

Update your ubisoft connect launcher or just re-intall it - it helped me

This seems to be true for all Ubisoft Steam games at the moment. Just another upside to being forced to use Ubi's garbage launcher. Why does this thing exist? Does anyone know? I'm struggling to see anything it brings to the table, it's just pure pain.
