Salt and Sacrifice Release Date
Salt and Sacrifice released on the 10th of May 2022.
It is now the beginning of May and it is only just over a week until the 10th. So it has nearly been a full year since the release of Salt and Sacrifice to Epic Games as an exclusive for PC.

Has anyone heard anything about whether or not the game is going to come to steam now that their exclusive deal should be about to end?

No, I was checking here to find that out, as a matter of fact!

I've put more time into the first one than I have into Skyrim, so I'm really hoping it arrives on Steam soon.

Don’t expect it to play like this game though.

its gonna be may 10th exactly like all other epic exclusives. Also sacrifice kinda blows, they gutted all the interesting parts of character builds, took out magic completely, took out interesting weapons like guns (and gunblade), you cant use a shield with any weapon instead shield+sword is a weapon class. Theres no two handing. Its a mess and it makes the game not worth playing for me.

I know what you mean. My playtime in Skyrim is only just about to catch up to my playtime in Salt and Sanctuary :lunar2019laughingpig:

Wait what.... are you kidding me? I have been hearing some things about how it is not as good as Salt and Sanctuary but I hadn't heard anything about there being changes like that! :steamfacepalm:

The game is more of a weird hybrid between souls and monster hunter which isn't that great in execution, for 15 bucks or less you can have a decent time but online it pushed is already dead at this point.

Yeah, it really falls flat by comparison to Salt&Sanctuary. It's kinda sad, for "just" making a direct sequel without changing much would have been perfect, at least in my opinion.

There's something to be said for not wanting to make the same game twice. Salt and Sanctuary is still a thing, after all.

i hope people do check Salt and Sacrifice out but it wasn't for me. At all. I think I read somewhere it was a weird mix of 2D + Souls + Monster-Hunter and that about sums up what I didn't like. I don't want the crafting and monster boss chasing grind loop.

I will still check the game out at some point when it comes to steam. It just depends on how much the game costs as to how quickly I get it. Don't want to spend to much on a game that by the sounds of it I won't enjoy as much as the first.

Sacrifice certainly isn't a bad game and is worth playing, but it doesn't hold a candle to the grim Dark Souls atmosphere of Salt & Sanctuary. That one felt so much like i was playing Dark Souls it gave me goosebumps.

Barring any technical steam related issues, i'd expect it to show up 10th May, the main reason Sanctuary got the recent patch was to rekindle interest ahead of Sacrifices release here on Steam.

This game was already getting patched way before may, granted optional/experimental but it was getting patches.

Then make a new IP and world, why keep it in the same location and similar naming?

There has been 2 patches in the last 3 1/2 years, the current one is approx 1 month before sacrifice launches. It's very clear why they did it, to get into the Steam news feed so people start talking about the new release coming. just pointing out the obvious.

On the plus side its not some superfluous thing, it's actually a comprehensive update that touches on a lot of things and does appear to improve on an already great title.

Sacrifice's release will also shine a light on Sanctuary for any who don't own it, so getting this update done prior to Sacrifices release was important for that reason too.
