Why is the Witch of the Lake OP?

Any idea's why this boss is so OP? I mean with all that power comes way to much irresponsibility.

From my viewpoint this boss has got to be the worst I have ever played against cause of the difficulty and the timing it takes. I mean what a great yet poor design on she is to me. It almost feels as if it were a rushed boss creation. I mean what the literal fudge is she on anyways salt steroids or magic steroids. What's the difference.

Well tell me your experience with this boss and how you beat her. I would actually love to hear your tale of defeating her. She is such a pain in the @ss.

Depends on your build more then anything, I used a betrayer mage and threw a debuff flask at her before melting her health with minions, lightning barrage, and flame barrage. Beat her first try with it, and was honestly surprised at how fast magic melted her.
Edit: Without shield. She got about three attacks before debuff, minions, and dark coil/reach ate her.

I found out that her fight is heavily based on RNG, if you are fighting her without shield. Despite having some problems with her in NG, NG+ was a nightmare... It wasn`t problem in damage output, since i had debuff flasks from Order of the Betrayal, but rather trying to perfect avoiding her attacks and having good RNG (mind you, i was playing without shield).

She's not so hard, but you better have a shield.

When she is flying out of your reach, jump over the "bats" when they are close to you, but hold the shield button.

When she is flying within reach, let her build a LITTLE of distance, get behind her before she can release PK Starstorm on you.

If she is on ground level with you, STAY CLOSE AND DEFEND. Her combo attack is either two hits OR two hits "bat" summoning. She is vulnerable after the second hit, but only for one or two attacks. Shields Up right after.

Be sure to have gears that gives defense against Arcane,

The only reason I survived was a fully upgraded 100% resist Iron Rampart... For my mage, I ahven't reached her in NG+ but in the first run I just used a Flask of Defilment and melted her HP before she could do anything.

I just spammed Fireball.

...No, I'm not joking. I might've summoned a Lightning Pod and Static Geist just before the fight for good measure; I honestly don't remember. All I know is that it lasted for about 5 seconds. I had enough time to jump twice and take a butt-load of damage.

I figured that since I couldn't figure out how to dodge her, I'd nuke her before she could nuke me. It worked out in the end. Mostly. I'm not entirely sure how I even survived; my health was a sliver afterwards. Pure luck is my guess.

I can pretty much beat her with any weapon type without getting touched and without a shield at this point, it's not that hard. All her moves are easily avoidable, just practice.

Not easily avoidable, but easily manipulated. Because if you get batstormed, beamed or starred... You are dead. No buts.

Yes easily avoidable, otherwise I wouldn't umm...be able to avoid them literally, everytime now?

Here's my "But", that being the mirror shield which, imagine this...reflects all arcane damage back on the one who casted it as long as you're blocking, meaning you can just tank all of her magic. Making this boss even easier if you're too fat to roll quickly, or too lazy/stubborn to remove your armor. Then you literally only have to worry about her melee, which does the least of her total of 4 moves.

i dunno what am i doing but im probaly over lvl sience i like to kill stuff for the sake of it

it was not that hard to beat her but i needed to use me sword to send me self flying wile attacking her it was hard using the heavy hammer but i think i could beat her whit just focusing in evation/hard nukes

just dont stop moving~ i guess

This kinda proves Tsukisomething's point. If she used barrage when you were away from her after dodging red serpent missiles, you would have no way to avoid it. It's not only a matter of proper dodging, but also good positioning and luck (if you're using non-ez build), and you had all three of those in this video.

It's also about using your equipment wisely. it doesn't matter if you have +7 on your current gear, if it is Slash against a boss that RESISTS SLASH, or if the fire defense is mediocre against a boss that mainly uses fire.
