Runs on Windows XP [?DirectX10&Sound Issue]

Dispite the official requirements, this game actually runs on Windows XP which doesn't have DX10. The wierd thing is - there is no sound in it ( music or SFX ). Usually when game actually uses DirectX that is higher than 9 and you don't have Vista+, you will get an error saying: You don't have needed DirectX, etc. But in this case, you can actually play the game, but, where is sound?

i have a same problem too no sound at all i just hate whenever good game comes out and says ''you have to upgrade your trashy windows xp to windows 10 while you lack of ram requirements you cant play the games while but you have to upgrade it no matter what"

Google "DirectX10 RC2 Pre Fix 3" download, install, play with sound. turn off volume (by editing config file) to 0 before upgrading a weapon or game may crash, you can turn the sound on again after upgrading your weapon (config file again). other thn that i had no problems so far

I have same problem - Win XP and no sound. I tried to use DirectX10 RC2 Pre Fix 3, but it shows msvcrt.dll error. Newer versions of hacked DX10 for Win XP don't work for me. Some tips on running S&S on Windows XP would be really helpfull.

Not that you care, but XP is end of life and terribly unsecure. You really shouldn't be using it anymore.

Yeah, i know, but my PC is low spec and XP is the best i will have in a years.
And what bothers me is that game runs perfectly fine, only without a sound.
