Advice for new player needed on pistol build please?
Hi all. Just got the game, and needing some advice on the best class, Creeds, and skills to get for pistols. I have made a Hunter figuring it would be more suited to range weapons, joind Devara's Light creed as I read you can get a pistol from the creed store. But how will this creed fit a pistol build? Does it effect my skill tree abilities etc etc??
Cheers

The Iron Ones are the best (starting, at least) creed for a pistol build as they sell not only a rank one but also a rank two pistol at later devotion levels. Another neat thing that they sell is the Steel Centipede whipsword, which is a good, versatile weapon for hunters. One-handed weapons such as spears, whips, and one-handed swords can combo their attacks into pistol and crossbow attacks, which is neat. The crossbow combo even gives you a built-in backstep.
The Iron Ones also sell special lightning ammunition that's just plain better than normal shot. The Stone Roots also sells special poisonous ammunition, but then, the Stone Roots are more about making a poison build in general.
Devara's Light is more a creed for paladins and clerics. They don't have much synergy with hunters.

The Rank 2 and 3 pistols, the Dragoon Espingole and the Lucent Musketoon, can carry you through most of the game. You can get the Rank 2 at the earliest from the Castle of Storms (transmute a Caged Man's Ear with a pistol and an amber idol), and the rank 3 pistol can only be obtained by transmuting the ashes of a Hornet Steel, a pistol, and an amber idol at an alchemist. That enemy's found in the Dome of the Forgotten, just to the right of the Red Hall.
You can also just outright buy the Dragoon Espingole, but you need to at least be in the Red Hall of Cages in order to get your creed devotion high enough for that.

For the time being, just focus on upgrading your flintlock pistol. When you transmute it to something higher, the upgrades partially carry over, saving you some rare materials.

Your mainhand weapon is up to you, but whips/whipswords, spears (to the best of my knowledge the only weapon skill besides ranged that gives you dex), and one-handed swords are probably the best fit. Be aware that you need one skill level higher than the weapon rank in order to one-hand a two handed weapon, and the final rank of polearm simply can't be one-handed.

Many thanks old King, I shall roll a new toon and enter the fray one more :)
Hmm, The Iron Ones blacksmith does not sell pistol, only the crosbow. Though the goods vendor does sell a better selection of pistol ammo. Where can I get a pistol quickly?
