Here is a fan-made set of maps, all of which are good: https://saltandsanctuary.wiki.fextralife.com/Maps
You can make a good game like this without needlessly frustrating ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, this is just bad game design. (also seriously hope I am missing a way to look down and its not just impossible)
EDIT: Oh man, finished the game and found more game design crimes. There is no good reason to take the players special travel abilities away (brands) in a new game+. Yet another step back in the metroidvania genre. It seems some decisions in this game design are made for no reason other than to simply frustrate the player.
Also BIG design flaw. If you dont collect the extra items from your sanctuary leader quest rewards, and start a new game plus (which the player isnt even warned he will), you permanently lose the possibility of acquiring such items in that save. THAT is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game design.
What a sad state of affairs, there's a lot of good to this game, but also a lot of frankly amateurish mistakes and design that seems to indicate contempt for the player. Especially some later dungeons where you have to lose health to reach another platform, or worse, do blind leaps of faith that may get you to the target offscreen, or a pointless death that just serves to waste player time and acquired resources (at least gold). Also found at least one place where if you fall down you become completely stuck and have to use an item to teleport or reload a previous save, all because devs ddint foresee players falling from the entrance to the area (its the tower with the mage sanctuary at the top).
