Where can I find/buy a wand and spells?
I may have screwed myself, but this is my first play through and I picked a paladin to start. I'm around level 15 and I've put a bunch of points into magic, but I can't cast any spells because I don't have a wand or staff and I don't know how to get spells. The internet has been surprisingly unhelpful on this. So, questions:

1. Where can I find a wand or staff?

2. How do you get spells?

3. Is it even possible for a paladin to learn spells?

Thanks!

every class can learn spells. but you need the spellperks from the skillthree to use them. most spells can be found in the world. but most can also be bought from the mage (or cleric for prayers) merchant. just offer a stonemage in your sanctuary. a sanctuary can hold up to 4 npcs. you can never get these idols back. and only merchant idols can be farmed. so be careful with them.

All class can learn Spells! and to find Wand or Staff, explore the game and if you want to upgrade your staff you can go to the blacksmith or you can transmute it into another staff! And for learning spells you need a figure of Mage (figure can be summoned to sanctuary for making figure into villager) after summon your Mage go speak to him and you ca ndo whatever you wanted to but before leanring spells you need to upgrade your class (go to the altar of you sanctuary for that) after upgrade you class and learn the spell, you can use these spells to Crush these Monsters!

(Hope you understand what i've said because i'm french.)

transform a paladin into a mage is a not so smart idea, the heavy armor makes you not so agile, you cant use a shield anymore (becaue the casting stick uses the shieldhand) and when u want to use the incantations that dont need a staff and are buyable from a stonemage the heavy armor and the shield wont save you anymore because the hidden debuffs incantations give you for the advantage of dont needing a staff. also without the rings that buffer the negative endurance hits for casting spells you are fast out of endurance, so no blocks or rolls or even hit combos.

nonsense. all it takes is a bit more salt farming and done. if you have ray of searing (which you do since you find it before that spot duh) all you need is rank 4 prayers and then you can spam 2000 salt at the first sanctuary in the dome right after slaying the dragon (3rd required boss). and by spam i mean SPAM.

it takes 30 seconds to make 20k salt there with the ray. you dont even have to move^^ so yeah. pretty moot argument. any class can be skilled into anything. i always start as a cleric nowadays no matter what my build will be as cleric is super neat for early game and killing the deep with the mace + blessed pages goes a bit faster.

so, when you are such a pro that never started with a paladin, because you say youself you ever start with a cleric, you can come down from you high horse and explain the TS how he shoud reach the castle, with his paladin that has wastet tons of points already in mage tree, without having the big spells, because hey he dont reached the higher level areas till now. want to see how you explain to him the usage of rolling (in heavy armor) , or efficent blocking (without a shield) and all this with his stamina going to waste in no time if he touch the lower level spells he got till now, because he has no counteraction vs the big endurance chunk eating.
but than i dont give much of ppl that just say they are smarter than other, with a mid to end game explanation (and no fundamental proof) for a player who is at the start, and than hide there profile so noone can check if they have any experiance in a game or just produce hot air.

dude the explanation is obivious. you assume he NEEDS to wear heavy armor and he NEEDS to roll or block. he doesnt NEED to. you just assume this. you can powerlevel yourself at any point in the game right after beating sodden knight (which is easy with ANY class) i never said i only played cleric. just that i PREFER to start as cleric nowadays as out of all the classes it seems to allow the most flexiable approach. doesnt mean you cannot make a paladin work. i did my first playtrough as once and didnt go for prayers at all. went full magic later with him after not likeing longswords too much which i tryed out first.

for example you can just switch to level 1 light armor already before fighting sodden knight as you can find the full ninja set before him. thats all you need armor wise. and going from pld to lvl 1 light armor requires not many levels at all. easy to grind out.

the only boss you need to defeat to reach the castle is the cyclops OR the jester AND the alchemist and imo the clops is far easier due to beeing pretty slow and all his moves are predictable. all other bosses are OPTIONAL and can be fought later. so he wasted a few skills on magic. who cares? he could for example go and get the 2hand sword from the queen of smiles. it scales with magic and str. works like a charm.

you assume tc needs to rush to the castle asap and progress trough the game asap for some reason. he doesnt. he can take all the time he wants to. he is not speedrunning the game here. you can switch your build/class over to anything you want with just a bit of grinding salt at any method available right after sodden knight.

first option is the saltless method in the villange of smiles. next option is grinding storm guardians in the castle. then whispermans with the ray in the dome. etc etc etc. there is always an option. i dont have to explain any of these methods as there is guides for them you can find within 30 seconds of googleing salt and sanctuary salt farming locations/methods. so why do i need to type every method out for the tc? if he isnt stupid which i dont assume he is for now he wont have any issues finding these guides.

i also never said i am a PRO anywhere dude. another thing you assumed for no good reason.
