♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. you dont need to roll at all on any boss to beat the game on NG. the only exception to this rule is the unspeakable deep but thats for obivius reasons as you cannot gear or level up at all before fighting it so rolling is the only option to beat it really.

but all other bosses maybe except the sodden knight can be outgeared easy. on my first playtrough i was fatrolling the full game and still beat all bosses without any help within 2-3 attempts at most.

there is many ways to handle this game. rolling is not essential at all. it isnt in dark souls either for the pve part of things. pvp is another story but that hardly matters here.

The Mad Alchemist got poisoned quite easily too, I actually tried poison against the Kraken Cyclops because of how well it worked against the alchemist (who was kinda squish too, btw)

I kill them very fast using 2 handed sword, and naked. Is really easy to avoid damage when u play naked.

it's a lot better to take no damage than get 60% of it. Try fat roll the witch, without a shield you will be destroyed quite fast.

you didnt get what i said apparently. first you dont get 60% of it if you use a proper shield like the rampart. second fatrolling doesnt matter even on the witch when you can block all her dmg aswell. rolling is only needed when you dont use a shield and even then its optional. there is an option to either roll or block in this game for a reason. you can also dodge all of the witches attacks by just using the dart brand correctly. people also beat dark souls without rolling or blockeing and there is videos of that. so saying rolling is essential is complete and utter bs. its just another option to play the game like that. nothing more and nothing less.

there is very few bosses who actually do magic damage on top of that. alot only have phys dmg or maybe 1 extra element. so you dont even need to farm the rampart to block all dmg from most bosses either. its also just another option to play.

you can beat the whole game without rolling once. what i said is simply rolling depends entirely on your playstyle. so saying its essential by default is simply pure bs.

Here's the deal, it's viable what you are saying but it's only works for one build. Try to pull this up with a staff mage or a thief daggers. Roll is a universal way to avoid damage with ANY character. When i said 60% it was a hippotetical valeu and i don't know why people always bring dark souls to this discusions, while yes, it was inspired by DS, it's not DS.

Emmm.....I beaten Whole game + NG+ with nothing else just Jester's Crown VII and Juzu-udewa VII and going from Kureimoa to Shrouded Bulwark to Jaws of Death and then Scharfrichter.... Look at those sites https://saltandsanctuary.wiki.fextralife.com/Game+Progress+Route + https://saltandsanctuary.wiki.fextralife.com/Equipment+and+Magic and you should beat it...just take Amber Idol as your starting Item + take Knight and beat Unspeakable Deep and ezz Souls xdd
Nerevar Jan 3, 2018 @ 3:32pm
cleric is much easier to beat unspeakable deep with.
also chitin obelisk is better than bulwark since it doesnt require drowned upgrade path and does more dmg in the end and you can get it same time you can get bulwark.

amber idol is also not really needed to be chosen. it drops from the huge orge guys aswell which there is one right next literally 5 seconds from the first alchemist ^^

but its a more decent starting item than most others true. either idol or crystal sphere or the ring for 10% more salt from the get go. all 3 are useful. the rest is trash.

As someone who did their second playthrough two handing, I recommend unequiping your armor so you get fast rolling. It will let you roll to the other side of him. Equip a mossy charm for better attack speed, and use either lightning or poison items to apply that damage type to your weapon. After that its mostly just rolling to the past his attacks and get some swings in. Make sure you always have enough stamina to roll after attacking though. His attacks get faster the less health he has.

I killed him with 2 handed kusarigamaIII git gud

oh yeah... almost forgot. The reason to beat the cyclops is to get a key for one mini sanctuary closer to the jester and another thing (can't remember what..) you can ignore him if you want but will not get the key or the ear.

aswell
*as well

Shields are OP. Naked is easiest without a shield. I wear pants because pants. Also many hats have ring effects, such as bloodflower, mossy, storm, bandaged, kismet, affluence.

If you kill the cyclops you can skip both alchemist and jester. I'm not sure why you would want to unless you're speedrunning, but you can.

In the end though, neither of them are that dangerous if you have an upgraded weapon.
If you're good enough at identifying their attack patterns and dodging, you can beat them without even that, but it's safe to consider those two fights to be a "gear check", but put even just a little upgrading into that claymore and it should deal with both of them in a hurry.
Isn’t it the false jester and the kraeken cyclop?

Small tip
The cyclop is recommended to fight if you are a fast enough character to dodge his attacks
The jester (somewhere up top) is recommended if you are a heavy built character able to block his mostly light attacks
I think that’s why they put 2 of them, one heavy, slow and powerful
And the other one, fast, light, and weaker

Definitly. With my heavy armor and 2 handed weapon I had 0 problems with the jester and a couple of tryes with the cyclops (kraken under the village of smile?).
