12 hours,i think.. But yeah this game worth even the full price. It's more a metroidvania than a " 2D dark souls"

Its great, 12 hours is an extremely conservative estimate. Game is even better if you can convince someone to coop with you (only local coop available though)

I agree with what's been said. It's definitely more of a metroid-vania than a dark souls 2D game. I'd say if you like the challenge of a dark souls game (or of course metroid or castlevania) then you'll enjoy it. While the game doesn't seem as long (I've not completed it just yet, but I can tell I'm getting pretty close now) I've already started three seperate characters to try out different play-styles, so it's got some replayability to it. There seems to also be a fair few secrets in there too, so overall I'd say it's good bang for your buck.

I was, unfortunately, majorly disappointed by the difficulty of the game. The bosses that were supposed to be hard to beat were more or less a cakewalk for me. True, I've played 2D-sidescrollers and metroidvania games a whole lot, but still.

The game isn't hard, it's tedious at some points, but those are only a few select enemies and/or maps.

But besides that, it's actually pretty fun. I enjoyed playing it, took me 10-11 hours to complete it, but I missed items and two bosses (?). It's definitely worth the cost due to different builds and some replayability of the game.

If you're good at these kind of games, it's fun to blast through, mowing down cool monster design.
If you're bad, then the thrill of getting bosses down and proceeding is great.

I recommend it.

If you're using a greatsword/other heavy weapon the game can become trivial.

I would advise playing through as a lighter class if you were looking for a challenge.

I used a greatsword for one boss, didn't like how slow it was so I decided to go with 1 handed swords. After that, I swapped to spears and went through the game with those, mostly because the moveset was just too awesome when two-handing. Spells I didn't touch at all, only used Mend for a few times, noticed the stamina-bar reduction and discarded that.

Probably gonna play with daggers if I replay the game and the under 25 % roll.

Heavy weapons can take down bosses quickly, if you had those, the game would naturally be easier
But I'm currently in a "light" run, meaning I'm using only one handed stuff
I also did a "mere human" run, meaning i cannot go above tier 3, no magic items (calling horns, bells, or any weapon buffers) no magic, and it's really hard after the 3 first bosses

As said, I didn't use any heavy weapons. I tried on one boss, but that was it, too slow, didn't enjoy playing with them.

I went most of the game with a tier 1 one handed sword and the game was easy. After getting a better sword, it got even easier. None of the bosses gave me any real challenge. For example, the Witch of the Lake went down on my second attempt, the last boss was the same. I died to Tree of Men 5 times and that was the highest death count from bosses.

Most of my deaths came from the damn fall damage...

Nevertheless, a fun game, I recommend it, but it wasn't that hard or challenging.

Some bosses are really easy, bloodless prince, dried king, queen of smiles
Though were you using heavy armor, shields? Or were you going light? I went light in my 3rd playthrough, and I get 2 shotted by the nameless God, and most attacks he does can't be fully block due to my lack in shield training.
Depending on your builds, like a weak man like mine, can make the game a lot harder

I used a mixture of heavy boots, heavy gauntlets and some robe to look awesome, with a hooded hat. So no, not really using heavy armor that much. I used some kinda shield, but mostly according to the elemental damage some enemies do. Some spells are hard to dodge.
De_faulty Nov 1, 2017 @ 8:53am
Light shield or heavy ones?
Bucklers are nice but each block takes out so much stamina
Cyseal Nov 1, 2017 @ 9:56am
Uh, I used some fire shield at some point, it looked pretty cool. Got it near the dragon-boss. No idea if it was light or heavy. I think it was a Tier 2 shield? I don't know, I stopped shielding almost completely after the rolls came out easily, used shields at start. Mostly it was two-handing spears.
