Hm... What is that glitch that ruined the desecration? I have successfully expunged at least 7 sanctuaries and haven't found any glitches on the way. Desecrating any sanctuary is a very heavy decision and shouldn't be done on a whim, I'm sure you know at this point. If there is an NPC you want in a sanctuary of a different creed, a Crystal Sphere will convert the whole sanctuary to yours, including any NPCs currently in it.
For stone sellswords, I think there should be more than 2 in the whole game based on a few runs of my chars. The wiki that is most commonly used is still very much a work in progress. There might be 4 in a whole, single run of the game.
We were in local co-op, went to one of the Sanctuaries, desecrated it no bother. I knew I had to die so I let myself be killed, it's then when we noticed that my co-op partner wasn't being damaged, it was like he was invincible. He also couldn't leave the room and we needed to die to get the item.
So I quit the game. Loaded it back up, went back to the sanctuary (it was still desecrated) and got myself killed. No item.
I'm pretty sure there is only 2 sellswords in the game. I checked the wiki and it said 2 :(
It totally killed our hype to complete the game. The only way we will play again is if I can "cheat engine" in a sellsword or something. Is it possible?
Did your friend try using a calling horn to warp to another sanctuary after you died? This probably would help to obtain your Writ after you die. Some have also said that you actually don't have to die. Warping out with a calling horn can work for getting the Writ too.
Yep we were trying to get the Bloody Writ. My friend did eventually use a calling horn and we went back but the same issue happened where he couldn't take damage. So I quit to the main menu and loaded back in on my own. Went to the sanctuary, died, rested at another sanctuary and no item :(
That's the least of my worries now though. At this stage we just BADLY want to finish the game on co-op. Is there a way to either 1: Revive the Sellsword NPC that was killed? or 2: Get another stone sellsword somehow?
I believe when I desecrated 1 Sanctuary the other one of the same creed also went hostile? Because I couldn't travel to it. Coincidentally both of those Sanctuaries had my only 2 Sellswords. So can I make one not hostile anymore to use the NPC again possibly?
I'm guessing this is a bug?
OK so i checked the Wiki page for the Candlelit Lady and she can forgive sins and cleanse corruption.
Services
Forgive Sin: Cleanse all sin for 1,000 salt per sin, 10,000 salt per sanctuary desecration.
Cleanse: Cleanse all corruption for 10 Salt per 1 corruption.
so now for what Sins do i found this:
Sin will prevent you from rejoining a previously abandoned creed, and their respective, default sanctuary NPCs will react to your denouncement, some of them refusing to offer their services. Desecrating a sanctuary is much more serious; you lose the abilities to teleport to, heal at, level up at, or take oaths to any sanctuary of a creed you have desecrated, and you will be attacked upon entering.
There was actually no Page for corruption but i found something in the notes section of the Blood Phials WikiPage:
Corruption appears to cause other Creeds to be automatically hostile towards the player after obtaining 300 Corruption, regardless of Sin
Corruption doesn't seem to change character appearance whatsoever, but it does change the UI or border of the game from white to black.
It is possible to be cleansed of this Corruption by paying Salt to The Candlelit Lady.
I hope it helps.
Thanks for this, appreciate it. I'm going to try cleanse everything and see if that gives us a life-line, thanks!
I ended up desecrating....pretty much every sanctuary in my og game and never cleansed my corruption.
