The Forever Winter

Mask man ADS offset from aimpoint?
I played shaman a bunch, figured I'd go for a character with some of the guns I'd like to try out, but kinda in the same size category, so started playing mask man and I noticed when I was forced to open fire I'd miss a bunch of shots suddenly.
it seems like if you aim down sights with maskman, it's somehow offset from the 'aim center', the first round goes where you aim, but the gun then recoils *hard* about 7 degrees or so to the left and clusters the remaining rounds there.
Also when you tag it ends up with the same offset instead of where your red dot/ironsight/scope tells you it'll go. I'm not sure if I can screenshot this or how to upload here. just wondering if this is a known thing or something new? or if there's a fix XD

Yeah, try to add a couple of screenshots about that. Sounds interesting.
Happens on maskman since 0.3 gunplay rework, happens sometimes on bagman after 0.4 too.

is the best I can do. it *does* vary every so slightly. but it's always offset to the left and a touch down for me. what I did there was just aim and hit z to tag, and you can see it's offset from where my reticule is by quite a bit. gets kinda annoying on anything with a zoom, as very often you have to adjust sideways quite a bit and walk your tag onto an enemy.

kinda impossible to get a screenshot going of the way it walks fire. if I was to fire there, the first round would be on target, but the gun would then recoil first to its 'proper' aim point, try to recover to this one and then fire again if on full auto.
The target marking always tries to snap to stuff. I am not sure, whether it "tries" to snap to something, even though there is nothing there, leading to this effect.

Are you sure, the gun is actually shooting at the target mark, when you hold it like that?

Can you make a 1 minute clip demonstrating it?
Are you running in windowed or using Lossless Scaling to full screen it? Because I had a similar problem. If it is the case put the game on full screen or bordeles.

Here how it looks like for me (its steam link, so it will expire after 2 days)

Edit: Tried both in borderless and fullscreen, no change.

it's so far only been mask man, shaman was fine. plus running fullscreen, so in all cases it's a no on that. but appreciate the idea.

yeah! you can really see how it 'recoils' to the left there. if you'd held down the trigger there it would've clustered around the 'new' aimpoint to the left of the original. thanks for the clip
I think the devs are aware that this is still a present bug with Mask Man and Bag Man sometimes. If you press alt you'll change to over the shoulder which makes precise headshots harder but actually lets you hit shots.

Wahhhh. They broke maskman.

Who to play instead for a bit?
Something funny I just found out, while using USP pistol there is no offset issues.

I started playing Scav Girl for a bit because someone in another thread said she was more of a challenge. I'm inclined to disagree, though shamefully she suits my playstyle much better.

Anyway I've encountered sight offset issues with Scav Girl. It's triggered by alt tabbing and can be resolved by alt tabbing. Is this the bug everyone is experiencing with Bagman or is it something else?
