Yep, I noticed it after playing 3 times with Tequila (The achievement counter didn't went up, but it did with a character DLC I own)

Just like the old days of OJ events before they got all fancy. All Units is what actually draws in new players though, which is good! Just remember, tho you can play anyone, unless you own their DLC, you cannot get their DLC achievements. Not sure if you can still get their costume drops without owning them.

Still, you can use the advantages certain characters have to help with some of the base-game achievements, like Sugi v2 Air Raid survivor achievement. But only til April 16th! Get grinding!

Can confirm as of this event, they just don't unlock. Used 2x on Suguri (46b) 15 times in one game and nothing. Presumably this is the same prevention that stops you joining an online game, being given a character you don't own, and getting their achievements that way.

Probably goes without saying that the Old Guardians campaign is also not unlocked during this event, nor are the card pack DLCs or the cards they contain.

Still a nice event. Just would have been a nice way to reduce some of the lengthy catch-up I'll be needing to do when Fighting the Windmills is finally fixed from being freaking ridiculous and I'm comfortable just buying the DLCs again.
