How do you use other characters?

Just got the game, and picked QP as my starter. Wanted to try out Yuki but she doesn't seem to be anywhere. All I see are prompts to buy DLC characters, but no options to change what campaign I'm doing without erasing my save entirely. What gives?

Beat QP Campaign Episode 1 then buy Yuki in the in-game shop for 800 stars

Only 1 episode for QP? I've beaten a few for Suguri but no new characters as far as I can tell

It's pretty weird how it does it.
When you beat certain campaign episodes, you unlock the ability to buy them in the game store for stars.

So if you started with Suguri's Campaign, you should have unlocked the ability to buy Hime in the shop after you beat Suguri Campaign Episode 1.

If you look at Grynn's link, the page should have what each episode should unlock in the store,

Weird, they appear in the shop but have "coming soon" written on it and nothing happens when I try to buy them (had over 1k stars when I tried and they show 800 for price).

Same here. Yuki is there, but if I try to buy her it says 'this item has yet to be stocked' and doesn't let me.

'Coming soon' = play few more games, as simple as that.

If you dont want to bother with the messy campaign system, then you can get random base game characters by going to the challenges section in the shop and using oranges on the warp panel option. This will unlock one random base game character.

Singleplayer is easy and quick enough that I wouldn't recommend throwing a multiplayer-exclusive currency just to unlock a base game character.
