When I see people comparing OJ to Mario Party...
... I die a little bit inside.

I realize they've never seen a ****ing board game.

It's just like Mario Party! All the famous 100% OJ mascots duke it out with dice!

Except there's no minigames between turns.

So it's not like Mario Party.

More like... Fortune Street! Except without the buying and selling aspect.

Uh...

I compare it to Mario Party since both aren't as conventional as a regular board game. In MP you have mini-games, in 100% OJ you have a kinda TCG or CCG inside.

They are not just roll a dice, land on a panel, climb the ladder, slide in the Eel.

Also, Mario Party is THE party game, almost everyone know about it (but it doesn't mean they play it or even they like it), so that's why people use it as a base example for comparison. I know Fortune Street, now tell me if it is that famous.

Is 100% OJ similar to Risk? No. To Chess? No. To LIFE? Maybe a little, but no. Battleship? No. (Well, maybe for Marc yeah...). To Mexican Lotería? No. To Clue? Well, they both have dices. And I can go on an on. I had a lot of board games on my room when I was a child since me and my grandma used to play them. So, Have I never seen a f***** board game? Maybe a few of board videogames, but physical, I have seen a lot of them.

And still, I compare 100% OJ to Mario Party.

Although 100% OJ and Mario Party play very differently, they do share a few similarities, so since Mario Party is pretty well-known, I tend to use it as a baseline and explain the differences between the two rather than explaining what 100% OJ is from scratch, simply because it's less effort. You're free to call me lazy, but just leave it at that and move on.

While they share similarities, Dokapon's a closer comparison than Mario Party is

Dokapon definitely comes closer, but as far as I'm aware it's nowhere near as well-known as Mario Party is.

People get mad about the silliest things.

Mario Party without mini-games is the closest comparison you can make to this game that a normal gamer would know.

Your typical gamer doesn't know what Dokapon is or any other comparison game you want to make.

I usually describe 100% OJ as the lovechuild of Mario Party, Dark Souls and Monopoly. With these ingredients the developers would make the perfect maffia game, but then they accidentally added chemical RNG and as such I label 100% RNG: The Game. And how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it is, including, but not limited to, murderous seagulls.

Mario Party and Eels & Escalators were the first that came to mind when I first played the game.
Granger 27/out./2015 às 10:33
But why is this bad OP?

Mario Party is pretty much the closest i can think off as comparision. It has the same principles (collect stars to gain normas -> collect coins to get stars), the fields are similar. And instead of minigames you beat the people up on the field itself. Then add maddening rng.

There, 100% Orange Juice in a nutshell.
