OJ Fiction Project

If anyone followed the Sora's Giveaway discussion thread, I was writing little conversations using the characters from OJ. Now, as the the games progressed, I wrote more and more, and soon enough, it got long enough for me to consider writing a story... sort of. Now, I didn't want to continue it, with simply the characters talking to each other. That would be a bit too easy on my part (ironically, I haven't continued after a certain part, but more on that later.)

Getting sidetracked, I decided to play a few games of OJ, get several games from the Steam Winter sale, and so on. As I went to use RPG Maker MV, I saw and remembered a program I bought a few months ago; TyranoBuilder Visual Novel Studio.

Then it hit me. I could continue my little OJ story project using that. And the end result thus far...

...which made me realize that I'm still a novice with the software...T.T

However, I still plan on continuing the project, while learning about the software at the same time. The ending to the story is still very far away, but I'll get there, eventually. That's just a few ideas that I have in mind, but the purpose of this discussion is three things.

1. The possibility of a OJ VN collection

This idea is something that is very far into the future, though I feel it's impossible for me to do, given the circumstances around it. In any event, using the VN software, I thought about making a VN of sorts. Well, not in the traditional sense, but a collection of short stories. These will be free to read, but I just want something to keep all the stories in place...

2. OJ Fiction tied to certain games

I guess this idea is something along the line of the story telling in the campaign mode of 100 OJ, how I chose to write my story in the Sora's Giveaway thread, and simply having fun playing a game of OJ with friends. Pretty much roleplay in a sense, where people in a lobby come in with named characters ( File name "SORA" as an example) and act out a game of OJ as said characters. Slightly harder to pull off, but manageable if people can stay in character.

3. Fiction ideas

Ironically, the name of the topic, but not the main focus. Self explanatory really, I just need ideas on something to write about featuring the OJ cast. I will note that I will not write about a topic that's too lewd.

It's actually one or two things (since both tend to happen.)

One, which happens to most of my uploads actually, is an error that tells me something along the lines that there was an error while YT was taking an upload and tells me to try again later. This happens occasionally with all my uploads, but trying again (which can take 1-3 retries later) fixes this.

The other, which affects my longer videos (had this occur during the uploads of Krilalaris' campaigns) that it stops mid upload. Considering that the 20+ min videos take 1-2 hours to finish uploading and process, and Aru's story is over an hour long... seeing it stop midway is heart breaking. T.T

I may have to take the suggestion to cut the story into 2-3 parts (at best) if I can't get it to upload in full. Personally, I want to keep it a full video, as it's a full story, but I might have to make that sacrifice...

Been busy with personal life (mainly having to work 6 days and partly the Steam Summer Sale) so I haven't updated the status of this topic.

Amazingly, can still get ideas for new stories.

- Burning Stars

A story based on the end result of the recent Breaker's Giveaway. Star goes on a rampage. Heroics and hilarity ensues.

- The Misadventures of Nana and Pochi

A story suggested by a Youtuber. Don't want to spoil too much, but it's different from the other Nanako story I have planned.

At long last, figured out why Aru's story doesn't get uploaded and why it stops midload. Thought about it during the Breaker's Giveaway (during games 11 and 12) and makes sense. Simply put, my internet dies for a short period of time, at random parts of the day. I don't why it dies, considering the internet box is under my pc, but it dies for a bit, usually from 20 seconds up to 10 minutes.

Despite realizing this, I still plan on uploading the stories as a full video, instead of breaking it parts. As a story, it feels complete that way. Of course, I can mainly only try on my days off to do so (since attempting to upload a video this size takes more than 4 hours to actually upload.)

Slightly unrelated to the topic, but I'll be posting the videos of the Giveaway on my channel as well. It takes the same amount of time to post them into my dropbox (archived/zipped as well) so may as well upload them there.

Moving back on topic, been working on using different sprites to use for some upcoming videos, instead of using the images from MJ. While I have access to nearly the entire cast (no Yuuki,) they really don't have any expressions. As an example, Alte generally looks mad all the time (though, amusingly, kinda painted her that way too.) Now, I'll still use them for some skits, but if a skit in question involves the cast available in 100 OJ, I'll use the sprites I'm making. Aside from the facial expressions, part of the reason I'm making the sprites is when I decide to continue with the fan-made campaigns. I'm designing them to look similar to the ones displayed in the campaigns. Not exact copies, but similar.

And the last thing to complete this rant... does anyone have a story idea starring Sweet Breaker? Can't really think of a serious or funny story using her.
