OJ Fiction Project

If anyone followed the Sora's Giveaway discussion thread, I was writing little conversations using the characters from OJ. Now, as the the games progressed, I wrote more and more, and soon enough, it got long enough for me to consider writing a story... sort of. Now, I didn't want to continue it, with simply the characters talking to each other. That would be a bit too easy on my part (ironically, I haven't continued after a certain part, but more on that later.)

Getting sidetracked, I decided to play a few games of OJ, get several games from the Steam Winter sale, and so on. As I went to use RPG Maker MV, I saw and remembered a program I bought a few months ago; TyranoBuilder Visual Novel Studio.

Then it hit me. I could continue my little OJ story project using that. And the end result thus far...

...which made me realize that I'm still a novice with the software...T.T

However, I still plan on continuing the project, while learning about the software at the same time. The ending to the story is still very far away, but I'll get there, eventually. That's just a few ideas that I have in mind, but the purpose of this discussion is three things.

1. The possibility of a OJ VN collection

This idea is something that is very far into the future, though I feel it's impossible for me to do, given the circumstances around it. In any event, using the VN software, I thought about making a VN of sorts. Well, not in the traditional sense, but a collection of short stories. These will be free to read, but I just want something to keep all the stories in place...

2. OJ Fiction tied to certain games

I guess this idea is something along the line of the story telling in the campaign mode of 100 OJ, how I chose to write my story in the Sora's Giveaway thread, and simply having fun playing a game of OJ with friends. Pretty much roleplay in a sense, where people in a lobby come in with named characters ( File name "SORA" as an example) and act out a game of OJ as said characters. Slightly harder to pull off, but manageable if people can stay in character.

3. Fiction ideas

Ironically, the name of the topic, but not the main focus. Self explanatory really, I just need ideas on something to write about featuring the OJ cast. I will note that I will not write about a topic that's too lewd.

flying to the top of the screen before islay shows up seems to always make you do rider's route, while waiting at the back for a little and then flying to the top sometimes makes you do rider, sometimes makes you do merchant
just staying at the back makes you do merchant

also flying into bullets is not healthy

Not quite sure what you're looking for, but thanks to a suggestion by Anonymous_Neko, suggested a familiar Spriter resources site, which is what I've been going through for some background art for the current story.

And speaking of the current story... I've realized that filming it will be a difficult process... since I'll have to do so while hoping my comp doesn't crash.

I don't know how I'll put the stories up for download really. I've been building the stories in Tyrano VN Builder, and I don't know how publishing will do (not to mention, I haven't actually added any music to the project themselves, since I don't have audio OGG files.)

Currently, just having the idea of recording them, editing them (which is how I've been adding music,) and then posting them on YT, to here.

I looked into Spriter's Resource, but couldn't find anything very useful. I've since looked into using Photoshop CS2 to modify pre-existing public domain images, and I'd say it looks...better. Something about photos in VNs just kinda distracts me. Not sure what it is.

I've got music down. Public domain music makes it easy along with the help of obscure VNs I have on my hard drive for whatever reason.

What are you using for recording your videos? On most modern hardware, I can't imagine a low-specs VN significantly lagging with a screen recorder, provided it's not something like HyperCam 2.

I've been using "Action! - Gameplay Recording and Streaming" to do the recording. When I'm watching the video through the program itself, it's not half bad. Transfer it to Windows Movie Maker though, and thing looks laggy. I used some freeware previously (Camstudio) to record before, while I was using Ren'Py, but wasn't satisfied with the result.

I could probably remedy this by getting Audio OGG files and having those play while recording, but I have no idea how to get them.

Lastly, the other editing software is much easier to use, but gotta buy it first in order to get logo off the screen.

(Getting slightly annoyed having to type replies, only to get "error, we can't allow you to post this, try again later" nearly every single time.)

Shucks, I forgot about potential post-editting. I'm hoping my proof-of-concept won't require it, but if I do, I'm going to be SOL. Unless I still somehow have MY TOTALLY LEGAL AND PAID FOR COPY of Sony Vegas on my computer.

Noname will not likely appear any time soon.

In a bit of irony, he helped me beat 200% mixed juice, since he had an ability to stun characters. Had no idea who he was. After a certain event, he was replaced by Kyoko.

Then playing the extra story in AoS X, made me hate him even more.

Kinda used the opportunity to take a slightly well deserved swing at him.

mimyuu, noname, islay&sherry, merchant, shifu, manager(&chris too but really those are manager's attacks), all of sumika's forms, hime

lone rider doesn't have a stun but after he gets a few boosts from lone frenzy car, it might as well be one
(this is assuming he's not against three urs because all of them have crazy high dex)

Haven't posted in awhile. Kinda went on a gaming spree, playing a bunch of games.

Well, don't feel like making an update video (I do kinda want to give Alte a break from character shenanigans) so I'll post a small-ish update.

-Christmas Miracle is nearing completion, just reviewing the dialog and structures.

-Someone's little stories caught my eye, and felt like making a short video of one of them (though one part I may change)

-I've been wanting to make a video of Quint's guide on 100 OJ, so that may show up sometime in the future
