There are benefits to both. Yeeting to a 2hp player before a strike is a solid move, or coordinating several players yeeting 2-3 cakes to help one player bring down a leader from full hp. Just having a regenerating Long-Distance Shot all game is awesome.

On the other hand, when most players are high hp, evenly spaced, or cake is going to discard anyway, I'll usually try my luck eating, there are far more favorable outcomes than bad, the best of which is a 2-turn accelerator that is an almost guaranteed gamechanger in anyone's hands.

If we just talking about taking sides, I'll side with my lil derpy Mio over a newcomer any day.

Depends on the situation, but sometimes I'll take a third option. I'll use Nico's Miracle Walker to transform the cake into a random Hyper. :P

Yeeting your cakes is useful in co-op, or when taking out someone who needs to go down - a low HP Sweet Eater, for example. Otherwise, I find the odds of Eating to be fairly worth the risk. Maybe not technically a good idea when it's the end of a close game, but the novelty is worth giving it a try.
