Campaign tips and tricks?
I got this game as a gift a few days ago, and have found it to be very fun to play online with friends. However, I desire to expand my collection by playing Campaign mode to get unlocks. The problem I face is that the AI seems to be cheating Mario Party style, and have only managed to beat the first two episodes in QP's scenario through sheer luck, and find myself stuck on the third one.

Considering that I am a new player, does anyone have any tips and/or tricks to offer to help me increase my chances of clearing these story missions?

The AI's luck modifier in the first two episodes of each campaign should actually be neutral or even negative if you're playing on Normal difficulty. The later scenarios of each campaign are indeed rigged in the AI's favor, but you can remove this rigging by simply playing on Casual difficulty instead, which gives everyone completely fair rolls and still allows you to unlock everything except Steam achievements.

That said, there are indeed a few things to keep in mind in Campaign mode. Every scenario has a fixed selection of opponents with fixed decks on a fixed map with fixed field events, so on every attempt after the first, you have the advantage of being able to plan ahead and bring the most appropriate character and deck for the matchup you're facing.
Also note that Poppo shows up as an opponent in every scenario outside the Extra campaign, which makes Evade-focused characters like Suguri significantly more viable than they typically are in Multiplayer. (You also can't really go wrong with Yuki and her +2 Atk.)
Other than that, the AI is fairly predictable in what it will or won't do, and isn't very smart when it comes to using cards. For instance, if you bring cards like Dinner or Super All-Out and the AI gets them, it'll happily use them for you even if the AI itself gets absolutely no benefit from them. Use this sort of behaviour to your advantage.

I appreciate it. Would it be recommended for me to try practicing with the first two episodes, or should I simply keep trying at the third episode until I get the hang of it?

There shouldn't be too big of a difference in AI "strength" between the 2nd and 3rd scenario, so you might as well keep trying to make progress.
Also, if it's any consolation, QP's campaign is generally considered the hardest (especially if you try to beat it using QP herself), so once you're done with it, the others should be a bit more managable.

Oh, and don't forget CTRL + Shift.

Don't be discouraged if you lose a lot, considering there's 4 players and you lose if any of your three opponents win. They don't actually work together, even if it might look like it sometimes. Honestly the AI has gone out of its way to help me at no benefit to themselves many times, which has won me more than a couple games. They're pretty quirky.

Also, even if you lose, each time you play a story map you can unlock new characters, and of course you'll also gain stars to use in the shop. Check back every so often to see what's new or get some more cards and try again.
