1st, read the banners on the mode.
Now as for how things work. Norma is now based on fame and victory is achieved at 20 fame. To get fame you must have a quest card (the tan cards). You start with one of these and can get one every time u stop at a home panel.
There are 2 types of quest cards labeled "quest" and "wanted" cards. Quests are fetch quests, and wanted are bounties. You need to hold these cards like they are gift cards. When you go to the location listed on a quest card you will receive the item for it, and an arrow will appear pointing at one of the buildings, which indicates you can turn it in there (this is also listed on the bottom of the quest cards). You will receive 2 fame for it and the card will be removed from your inventory.
Bounties are a bit different. Whenever u pass a location, you will see a monster blurb appear indicating what is there. if you have the wanted card for it, you can fight it. All monster battles will last 10 rounds. Upon victory you will earn however many fame points listed on the card (2,3,4) and it will be removed from your inventory.
This is the gist.
Some tips, though:
-Fetch Quests always hand out 2 Fame. Wanted Quests vary from 2 to 4 Fame. But with additional fame comes addition difficulty.
-There's a lot of 3-Fame and 4-Fame enemies you probably don't want to mess with, personally, i just steer clear of them.
-To my knowlege, one of the most reliable sources of Fame is doing the "Fetch Quests", especially if the spot you're meant to go to is near you. Once you've got the item you can return to shops with arrows hovering over them to give them the item and get Fame plus some stars.
-The best unit for this gamemode would be a bully type who's got 4-5 or more HP and is proficient at combat. They're able to defeat 2-Fame enemies and some 3-Fame enemies without much if any buffs. Taking a Wanted Quest when you spot a enemy nearby is a privilege they can enjoy to get ahead of most units. You may want to avoid playing 3HP units since they do not last long in multi-round combat.
(Though i've found Kyupita is also a good pick. Fire-and-forget the hyper and occassionally use massive firepower on a enemy.)
(Note: If someone walks over a quest location, the enemy within is revealed. Or if you use a specific item. Otherwise it's a mystery and in my experience, it's not worth gambling if you know a sufficiently nearby Fetch Quest to do instead. Oh, and if someone beats the X-Fame enemy in a quest location, the location disappears. Every 6 chapters the board resets the shops, quest locations, etc.)
-If homes are far apart, always visit them to stock up on quests. And if they're close together (like Practice Field/etc), it might help to stock up on as many quests as you can hold. (I prefer hoarding Fetch Quests.)
-The Moss Golem you encounter in Boss Tiles is worth 6 Fame. Definitely worth taking out if possible.
-The Harbinger steals Fame, so if you can take him out that's a neat Fame bonus too.
-Edit: Oh, and if you don't need a card. May as well sell it to the store for stars instead of discarding it.
That's what i've found so far from oldschool and recent sessions anyway.
