Intensified Poppo Event Discussion

The name explains it. Anyways.

Although the specific details have yet to be confirmed, it has been confirmed that defeating enemies and bosses through the battle and boss panels while playing as an event Poppo (whichever Poppo is displayed in the main menu) fills the bar.



So far all that's figured out is that Poppo gets stars from stealing from someone with stars. Whether or not the victim needs to be Poppo is still being tested.

Additionally, there is a possibility that each of the three stars that needs to be filled up is a different objective, meaning different things need to be done to complete them. This is still being tested.

It has been claimed that a player had a Kae avatar, but the avatar was mysteriously switched to Poppo (with no cosmetics)

It has been confirmed that a Poppo without cyber Poppo (as in, he doesn't even have it) got the 1st star.

It has also been confirmed that winning is not the requirement for the 1st star

I grinded through single player, playing Poppo (with only the cyber Poppo cosmetic), and checking on the bar every time I finished a round. It rose more or less depending on how many enemies I defeated (from the battle and boss panels)

Question: have you participated in previous poppo events? There's been at least 4 so far, and each skin has its own requirement.

Rad Poppo: Steal stars with Ubiquitous
Dapper Poppo: After getting Rad, kill bosses with Rad Poppo
Cyborg Poppo: Kill the Big Poppo boss that can show up when dapper or cyborg poppo is being played.
????: The newest one we're still looking into. I don't think anyone has a lead on it yet.

Rad Poppo is to steal a sufficient number of stars.
Dapper Poppo is to KO 3 bosses
Giga Poppo is from KOing the special Poppo boss.
Poppo 2k17 has unknown conditions.
All conditions require 3 times as much effort if you are playing solo.

I played one match as Cyber Poppo, which I figured would involve her because she's the one on the screen this time, and I got one star so far.

My theory is that you need to defeat the NPCs that wear Poppo masks as Cyber Poppo; I defeated two Poppo-seagulls in that match.
EDIT: rereading the OP, I did also use Ubiquitous in that match, so that is also a possibility. I thought it would be something other than just Rad Poppo repeat.

I doubt it's ubiquitous again. I used one last game and have no progression myself. Getting wins with poppo at least makes some sense, but i can't say for certain.

I used like four Ubis one game as Cyber Poppo and got almost no meter for it, for what it's worth.

There's other ways of stealing/removing stars, anyone tried using something like For the Future of the Toy Store or Sky Restaurant Pures?

Ok, so I'm now fairly certain the new poppo is gotten by getting kills with cyber poppo on the NPCs. One of my friends just got 3 mob kills and a boss kill and his gauge is maybe halfway full.

So far the Discord channel has been trying to do something with the masks, but I'll start looking into cyber Poppo, thanks for the feedback.

I did way more killing this time, successfully defeating 4 normal enemies and one boss, giving me 7 wins in total. (I didn't kill other players) Played as Cyber Poppo again, and didn't use a single Ubi.

I'm with a guy at the moment that got the first star without cyber Poppo, so the theory that the killing that's important is starting to seem viable.
