I'm just curious. Kiriko's not ACTUALLY gonna sound like Sakura Miko, is she? Given her demeanor, body language and overall personality, she never struck as someone having such a sweet and high-pitched voice. Given she's 23, I was expecting a more mature, slightly "Ara ara"-esque voice.

But hey, not my decision to make. I guess I'll decide whether or not to leave her voice on when we actually get clips of her voice in action.

Edit: Copying from one of my later posts. I would also like to be clear that I'm not bashing on the VA for her work here. She clearly has a passionate fanbase and does great work. I'm more so curious about who did the casting for the voice, and picked her for the job.

Failing to hear the "sexy" in the clip. That said though, I want to be very clear. I may have been unclear when I said "ara ara~"-esque voice, but I didn't mean sexy, I meant older more mature woman.

See, that IS what I'm expecting of her voice, but the tone from every clip I'm hearing is all wrong. When I think Kiriko, I think of an adult's voice, not a voice I expect from Nico.

yeah, big ass fumble. The VA is great but it was an awful choice to put her in charge of Kiriko; guess I'm gonna pretend she's actually two children stacked in a coat.

This is probably the most disappointed I've been in a character voice since Krila.

From the trailer alone, it's clear that no effort was done to make Kiriko sound anything like what her appearance and personality would suggest, and the fact that it's high pitched especially annoys me.

Also, I don't know if it's just me, but I wish that Miko costume she got wasn't a thing at all. It looks so out of place in comparison to the other characters, and the game itself, and hardly even looks like it's Kiriko anymore. If they were going to care this little about making Kiriko actually sound fitting to her character, then they should've just made a separate Sakura Miko character instead of turning Kiriko into a shameless walking promotion.

yeah, the voice was miscast alright. i don't blame the VA tho, she sounds great. just whoever thought she should be perfect for this character was dead wrong.

also, another miscast is the wada youngest sister. god, it's awful to listen to the voice.

to me the voice doesn't really fit but it's not THAT bad. what bothers me is that they went as far as to give her the cosmetic thing alongside it and basically turn her into the virtual youtuber. costumes are okay but i want our oj crazy gang doctor santa bullying kiriko, not a v-tuber! heavy v-tuber involvement in my orange juice is not ok!!!

Krila is a 13 year old chuuninbyou, her voice isn't unfitting to her character. Kiriko's voice, on the other hand, is not exactly what I would expect an adult (unlicensed?) doctor/mad scientist to sound like.

I'm really disappointed in this, personally. I was expecting either a low, smooth voice or a shrill one - dangerously silky or flat-out unhinged. Just something that would come out of an adult with half-lidded eyes, long voluminous hair, and a serious scalpel fetish. Hearing her with a bubbly schoolgirl voice is just... meh. :/ Makes her blend in with the rest of the cast, and not in a good way. It's not a knock to the voice acting. It's very well done. True, I'm not the one who designed the character and thus have no right to dictate what that character should be, or is, but this... really wasn't what I expected. Or wanted. We -can- have adult voices in this game. Just listen to Sherry or Alte.

I was really excited about my favorite character getting voice acting, and now I just feel like she's getting molded into something else that interests me much less. And in that sense, I kind of feel cheated.

If you ask me, they should have cast someone else as Kiriko and let this VA wait for the Witch Pack to get voiced, she would have made a better Ceoreparque. inb4 Repa gets a sultry voice now
