How is the single player/AI on this game?
I'm not much of a Multiplayer fan on Board Games/Strategy Games. (Except when I play with friends.)

So this is a major deal for me: How's the AI on this game? The single player experience is good?

The AI is stupid and tends to make plays that make no sense. Seriously, though, you should give multiplayer a try on this game. It has one of the most friendly communities out there, and most of the players will tell you that they feel right at home.

If you're only going to play Singleplayer, it's honestly a little hard to recommend the game - it's still fun, but Multiplayer is where it really shines and where the real replay value comes from. Even if you only play with friends, playing against real thinking beings is just leagues more fun than playing against an AI with limited understanding of how to play the game (let alone use cards effectively).

I see! That's sad about the AI. I'm trying to get my friends to play the game too, so I can make up this. xD

And yeah, I really should try playing multiplayer with random people. My only problem with this, is that I've seen this game is quite famous and have a LOT of experienced players.

I don't enjoy much being destroyed every time. XD Specially because I'm pretty much casual in games like this. I don't feel like trying to learn every single tactics and min/max strategies.

But thanks for the info!

A lot of people also play with random boards and random events, which have a tendency to let somebody pull a win out of thin air. I'm not sure how common they are but I am one of those people that will sometimes rig the board and events in favor of somebody else if I'm feeling better than usual.

Oh, no. I'm one of the most bad luck'd persons in the world. xD

Nah. Don't worry about it. This game's skill ceiling isn't exactly the highest in the world. For instance, I'm level two-hundred-fifty-whatever, but I wouldn't say I'm much more skillful at this game than any level 50 player (And even saying 50, I feel like I'm pushing it.)
Shade Mar 30, 2017 @ 12:56pm
Yeah, as long as you don't make any obvious mistakes, most of the skill elements in this game have dubious effects on your win rate at best.
Assuming that the average win rate is 25% (as there are four players per game and only one can win), a "good" player will have like a 30-35% win rate, and even the top players generally don't surpass 40%.

This is reassuring. XD I will sure buy at least the base game... But I'm so addicted to DLC... I'm thinking about getting the game with all DLC too... Sometimes I hate myself for that addiction. XD

I'd recommend sticking with the base game for the time being. If you really want some DLC right off the bat, the only ones I'd recommend are the booster packs (as they offer more strategic options for everyone) and maybe the Breaker Pack, as that comes with two additional Singleplayer campaigns in addition to the characters.
The base game already has 12 unlockable characters (18 if you count the joke characters and playable versions of the bosses), so the character packs only really become interesting once you grow tired of the base cast and want to experience something new. The game goes on sale fairly frequently, so you can still grab the DLC at a discount at a later date if you're willing to wait a bit.

Oh, I see. Yeah, that makes sense. I guess I'll do that them.

Thanks a lot for the help so far, friend!

I really hope the rest of the community are just as friendly as you guys. I appreciate a lot the attention!

I concur with the others; the game gives you so many choices during your turns that you almost always feel like you have some agency, yet it's random enough that - as long as you're not doing *completely* ridiculous things or deliberately trying to lose - your chances of winning are close to anyone else's. Once you have a feel for it, you won't feel left behind.

Additionally, the playerbase is *mostly* quite nice. The game doesn't foster the competitive spirit that results in toxic behavior found in a lot of pvp games.

Certainly get a feel for the game to see how you like it before you spend money on DLC. It won't change your overall opinion of the game.

I just fell in love with this game. I played two matches on PVP. The first one I almost won, but I fell in my own trap on a Home, and was teleported a loooong way... I laughed so hard, that I cried. And in the exact next turn, we had a backtrack, and one of the oponents was one Norma of winning too. He had a home behind him... And he got 1 on the movement. He won.

I laughed SO HARD at that. XD

This game is magical. It destroys you completely, and yet you laugh hard of your own disgrace.

I'm really inclined of getting all the dlc now, despite the excellent argument from Shade. XD (Which I followed, btw.)
Rio Mar 30, 2017 @ 7:20pm
The AI will almost always get the exact roll to land on any norma once they meet the goal requirements.

Also the AI loves to throw itself upon bosses panels so in many AI game bosses don't usually last long.

The single player IMO is not good. And there is MUCH you cannot unlock unless you play multiplayer/

..Hey now, DLC is on sale right now. If you think you'll stick around, there's nothing wrong with getting it now.
UnLuckyCat Mar 30, 2017 @ 7:47pm
If you want to avoid the more competitive players, join or create Speed 2 or 3 lobbies. Also helps to see what the cards do if you're feeling lost. Not that there aren't jokers in Speed 4, what with nearly every lobby set to fastest. Just don't play on Speed 1 and you should be fine.

The DLC characters unlock immediately, so you don't have to play the campaign to get more than the 4 starters. However, they're typically a lot more quirky than the base characters so I wouldn't really recommend them if you're still learning. They're not bad, and actually a lot of fun, so they're definitely worth getting eventually, but you should probably get used to what you have first.
