Slightly off-topic but the public lobbies seem rather dead and unlively most of the time, people just do a few games and leave without ever speaking a word. So damn hard to find people to play with for fun who make good company and actually SPEAK, rather then being completely boring and silent... Ah well.
If you say something in a language you don't know you'll be expected to speak it (unless you state it beforehand which seems to be pretty sophisticated). It might lead to some misunderstandings and you'll also end up being in a lobby with people talking in a foreign language – quite a progress, huh?
Well, technical issues aside, some people are just not that talkative and/or play only for the challenges What can I say, I'm an example of both!.. – there isn't much you can do about it.
There's plenty of reasons: tired of playing, don't like this particular lobby – be it players or maybe some permanent events/fields (or even the lack of any events), and so on...
So, shortly before I decided to just take a break from the game altogether, I've started simply quitting rigged lobbies outright (although I'll at least take the time to reply if people are quick to greet me).
Now, I host the "100% RNGesus Juice" which is open for all players as it is what you see on the tin; 2 Random Events and a Mystery Event. I like to play this as it causes all kinds of crazy scenarios but lately, the newer players seem to join and then leave straight away which as mentioned, could be down to intimidation or maybe they want to rig their own game so they can play to win?
I'll play for the challenges but if I have the time I'll play some games for fun. Though I do understand that a challenge can take between 1~2 hours on average depending on said challenge, as the average game lasts around 20 minutes, so I can understand why some people don't stick around after the challenge has been completed.
no offense bros, im just sharing my opinions on this
-After the obligatory greeting, I say something else and it's the only thing in chat for the whole game up until the eventual "gg".
-It's not the friend I thought it was in the starred lobby.
-Somehow the 2/4 became 5/4 while I was joining.
-I just wanted some background noise and spectated a match but didn't actually play, even if there's space.
-Someone's playing especially bad, possibly on purpose.
-My luck is especially bad that day, I gotta quit so it can be better the next day.
-My challenges are all done, and somebody else leaves first.
Sometimes I've had enough playing just 1 or 2 silently, sometimes I feel fairly social and keep on playing.
I've turned into one of those people too. Down to a tee. Also, salty people just don't understand the concept of the game, it's full blown RNG. Even the lobby I host has RNG in the title, it makes me wonder what part of that they don't understand?
People who are higher leveled have simply had the game longer, skill doesn't matter here. It frustrates me when people get salty and leave, so I try and joke about it to lift the spirits up in the game.
I'm not going to engage in conversation with those outside of who I know. I have no interest in small talk or indulging trash talkers with pointless counterarguments. I also get tired of seeing Star/Battlefield fanatics, so that's an instant leave because those games aren't fun either.
Thanks to the orange system, I can't play this game like I used to; for fun. I seriously wish Phle would see that some of the older players are tired of having a system in place that feels like a chore to get through. Sometimes I would just let whoever is close to winning end the game, because in the end, even being last doesn't matter, as long as those two oranges are gained. If you're not first, then technically you're last anyway.
I miss the pre-challenge days.
2. I don't want to play x character
3. The cpu is going to win, and I don't care about a free win usually.
4. Its an impossible to win game or that won't be any fun to play (3x sherry with 1 cpu roboball, 3x 2+ attackers with 1 cpu chicken, 3x syura, 3x star breaker, 3x krila, ect).
5. Awful event combination like random warp and home switch on a huge map
6. The people playing play too slowly. If I hit join lobby and it takes like 10 minutes to enter game, I know they are going terribly slow.
I don't think that answers your question at all but that's my stance/justification for leaving. I don't see myself as a misanthrope but I do know what kind of people you're talking about.
