People leaving the room as soon as they join
Why do people join a lobby, only to immediately leave straight after? I feel this is happening a lot lately, especially with the new players. They don't even converse, they just leave after a game is over. No "gg" or "hello".

Now I understand there may be a language barrier but isn't the word "welcome" known by all?

I've noticed that people leave if the lobby isn't full because no one wants to play with CPU's, but I feel like people also leave if they wait around for other players to join. It's a double-edged sword. What's the best way to ensure everyone has a good time playing?

Post your thoughts and opinions here, or if you've ever left a lobby or game before and if so... why?

Who knows, maybe they feel intimidated by the player levels or something, i've seen people joining obviously full lobbies in progress too, and leave straight after, and unless you can join a lobby instantly by double-clicking or something, it'd be pretty hard to not notice the player amount. Typically i don't really leave lobbies that quickly unless maybe there's no english speakers or they're just bad company.

Slightly off-topic but the public lobbies seem rather dead and unlively most of the time, people just do a few games and leave without ever speaking a word. So damn hard to find people to play with for fun who make good company and actually SPEAK, rather then being completely boring and silent... Ah well.

people get disconnected for no reason sometimes

New players might be "scared" of high level players – and sometimes it's also vice-versa, since it's just not that fun to play with someone who has just started.

If you say something in a language you don't know you'll be expected to speak it (unless you state it beforehand which seems to be pretty sophisticated). It might lead to some misunderstandings and you'll also end up being in a lobby with people talking in a foreign language – quite a progress, huh?
Well, technical issues aside, some people are just not that talkative and/or play only for the challenges What can I say, I'm an example of both!.. – there isn't much you can do about it.

There's plenty of reasons: tired of playing, don't like this particular lobby – be it players or maybe some permanent events/fields (or even the lack of any events), and so on...

There's also that with the introduction of challenges, a lot more players have started rigging fields and events in their favor. It gets old very quickly to see someone with Starbreaker as their avatar and all field events except the ones who benefit her disabled, especially since those are usually the same people who like to trashtalk you after they win their rigged game as if it was some kind of accomplishment.
So, shortly before I decided to just take a break from the game altogether, I've started simply quitting rigged lobbies outright (although I'll at least take the time to reply if people are quick to greet me).

I've noticed that, especially when you have introductory events for new players to try the game. They trash talk and then leave straight after they won the game.

Now, I host the "100% RNGesus Juice" which is open for all players as it is what you see on the tin; 2 Random Events and a Mystery Event. I like to play this as it causes all kinds of crazy scenarios but lately, the newer players seem to join and then leave straight away which as mentioned, could be down to intimidation or maybe they want to rig their own game so they can play to win?

I'll play for the challenges but if I have the time I'll play some games for fun. Though I do understand that a challenge can take between 1~2 hours on average depending on said challenge, as the average game lasts around 20 minutes, so I can understand why some people don't stick around after the challenge has been completed.
bro, almost players have pride in winning.... i think they do that becuase they feel they lost confidence when seeing another players have huge winning (e.g like ur level 100 and their wins is almost 1000)... TBH im one of those players that leaving immediately, i feel there cheat engine that the rolls almost 7 and up (especially those players using Starbreakers and yuki).. thats why i always do leave and felt annoyed...

no offense bros, im just sharing my opinions on this

I'll leave if:
-After the obligatory greeting, I say something else and it's the only thing in chat for the whole game up until the eventual "gg".
-It's not the friend I thought it was in the starred lobby.
-Somehow the 2/4 became 5/4 while I was joining.
-I just wanted some background noise and spectated a match but didn't actually play, even if there's space.
-Someone's playing especially bad, possibly on purpose.
-My luck is especially bad that day, I gotta quit so it can be better the next day.
-My challenges are all done, and somebody else leaves first.

Sometimes I join by mistake or am looking for the lobby I was last in after a desync and end up in the wrong lobby.

For me I only really like playing on Random, Random and Mystery. The lobby from my knowledge does not show the events until you enter the room. Only that the map pool is random.

Sometimes I've had enough playing just 1 or 2 silently, sometimes I feel fairly social and keep on playing.

You really don't need to rig your lobby for any challenge. You can finish all of them within 5 games, which is required because one of the mandatory 3 challenges is always play 5 games anyway.

I leave some lobbies due to players. Some names I recognize and just aren't fun to play with. Others I just see low level players who recently in my experience are waaay to salty and just aren't fun to play with. They rarely talk to begin with except to gripe

Not gonna lie, I’m an offender of a few things here.
Boring people who are boring:
Sadly I’ve turned into one of these people. Now I tend to only say “hello” or “geegee”. Not because of some language barrier or because I had a bad day and I don’t really feel like talking, simply because I don’t care anymore. I don’t care about my fun nor yours. I literally only play OJ for the oranges.
Not to say I’ll be rude; if you try and talk with me I’ll be civil and talk back just don’t expect me to start a conversation.

I've turned into one of those people too. Down to a tee. Also, salty people just don't understand the concept of the game, it's full blown RNG. Even the lobby I host has RNG in the title, it makes me wonder what part of that they don't understand?

People who are higher leveled have simply had the game longer, skill doesn't matter here. It frustrates me when people get salty and leave, so I try and joke about it to lift the spirits up in the game.
I'm going to incline to agree with Grynn here. Usually if I join public, I'll see what the lobby setup is before I choose to join or not. I don't know how the majority prefer to play, but I don't want my time wasted in games that take over 45 minutes because someone thought using Random Warp and Mystery on Farm would be entertaining. It really isn't. When I or someone else literally cannot hit the first norma within 30 chapters, then this is where I start to get bored. Games are only interesting when everyone is on equal footing.

I'm not going to engage in conversation with those outside of who I know. I have no interest in small talk or indulging trash talkers with pointless counterarguments. I also get tired of seeing Star/Battlefield fanatics, so that's an instant leave because those games aren't fun either.

Thanks to the orange system, I can't play this game like I used to; for fun. I seriously wish Phle would see that some of the older players are tired of having a system in place that feels like a chore to get through. Sometimes I would just let whoever is close to winning end the game, because in the end, even being last doesn't matter, as long as those two oranges are gained. If you're not first, then technically you're last anyway.

I miss the pre-challenge days.

1. I see every player is low level, so I leave. If I stay and play, after that game when people see my level they'll all leave anyway. This is the NO ONE reason I'll join and then leave. If I join a lobby, I'm not getting my character daily done that run. So I start it next run, if Everyone leaves and the lobby dies I'm screwed, unless I then host.

2. I don't want to play x character

3. The cpu is going to win, and I don't care about a free win usually.

4. Its an impossible to win game or that won't be any fun to play (3x sherry with 1 cpu roboball, 3x 2+ attackers with 1 cpu chicken, 3x syura, 3x star breaker, 3x krila, ect).

5. Awful event combination like random warp and home switch on a huge map

6. The people playing play too slowly. If I hit join lobby and it takes like 10 minutes to enter game, I know they are going terribly slow.
fulf May 31, 2017 @ 9:45am
I'm always at least a little talkative, but sometimes I really do just want to play one game and then get off. Challenges have nothing to do with it for me. I enjoy playing the game daily but I really burnt myself out of really long sessions of play. Three, maybe four games if I'm in really good company is my upper limit and usually it's one or two games in one session, maybe a few sessions a day. I just sorta have attention issues and if I play for longer than I can stomach the game begins to grate on me and seems to slow to a crawl.
I don't think that answers your question at all but that's my stance/justification for leaving. I don't see myself as a misanthrope but I do know what kind of people you're talking about.
