I have this error as well and I did everything to make sure my drivers were updated. I still have no luck in getting it to run.

it happened to me too. by what i could understand, it has to do with the engine used. apparently, the devs are still working on it

Often is the case since this issue came up till people said what their GPUs was and turned up to be that case lol...

This explicitly means that the game requires not DirectX 12, but DirectX 12 Layer 2 (or 12.2). Which in turn requires Windows 10 2004+ or running this game via DXVK.
