Stuck in Theta labs

I have reached Theta and restarted the mainframe. However, in order to get further, I need to speak with a simulation of someone called Brandon Wan. Every time I try to speak to him, he panics.

I have managed to find the solution for this. It involves using a second storage device, found in a box on one of the lab desks, to upload background data to make the simulation more convincing.

You've been in Wan's room right? Make sure you've inspected everything. Then go back to the computer and make sure you check Alice's voice before launching the simulation. And also, change the background to the last option (the place that looks like a garage. I don't think it will work if you choose the beach or the house)

There are no background options, and I have inspected everything there is to see in Brandon's room.

Edit: Okay, I found out what I was missing. I failed to notice the box marked "Simulation Assets". I had simply dismissed it as yet another generic box that couldn't be opened. Looks like I need to put the data for backgrounds on the storage unit inside to use them in the simulation.

Get the disc, select Wan, get the storage disc from the Sim Assets box and put the scan room on it (from the room with the pilot seat in it), then run the simulation to watch as Wan asks where Alice is. Go back to the dorms and Catherine should open Wan's door. Listen to the black box recording where he talks to Alice/read the love note in one of his drawers, then Catherine will be able to mimic Alice in the sim and you're good.

You need to try running the simulation with Brandon first. Only after that fails will your friend unlock the door for you. Simply approach it after running the simulation.
