Launching an ARK simulation? How?
I'm at Theta and I have to launch an Ark simulation. I don't know how. There's a computer connected to the ARK and I can enable/disable some elements (mainly scenery), but there's also some table in the middle of the room where the ARK is supposed to sit. What the hell am I supposed to do? This is the place.

U need to enable elements in order to have some free space of memory when u done with it. There are some red messages on the right, telling what u need to be enabled for simulation. Better to disable all of these and start enabling one by one, watching red messages until u figure the right combination of elements to get "white"memory bar on the right. Ehhm sorry for my eng, but that's it.

edit: yeah, just like the guy before me wrote.

So, where is the dummy? The thing you have to put in the table, i'm gonna assume. Can't find it and i'm really feeling dumb about this.

The dummy programme, Granja. Not a literal dummy. :steammocking:
LucasNautilus Sep 23, 2015 @ 7:37pm
Ok but like, how do i load a Dummy? Man i feel REALLY dumb ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Larry Sep 23, 2015 @ 8:10pm
You've hooked the computer up and done the simulation part, right? Once you finish reallocating data for the simulation you've to choose what subject to load. There's only one you can use out of the list as the rest are "legacy." The last option is "Dummy."

Right! But, uhm, which computer says that? After i reallocated everything the ARK has four options:

Run Diagnosys
Begin Simulation
Stop Simulation
Reset Simulation

And on the side there is 'Allocated Resources', on neither computer i found something like subject to load or anything like that.

Its in PT-BR, but it means what i said above. (Sorry for bothering and thanks for the help, btw!)

Edit: Oh yeah, and the computer on Catherine's side says:

Documents
Ark Tracker
Ark Opinion Research

Start the simulation and lower 'resource alloc' until you can see each file as it goes through...stop simulation when you see the dummy file popup.

Oh god i'm so stupid

So, so stupid

Thank you!!

Np :) if it makes you feel any better, the other night I had to look up how to start the damn sim too...cath wasn't much of a help in terms of hints either.

I cannot find a single combination which doesn't overload the system.
I did the obvious first; picking all the smallest available options at the outset.
That didn't work; with the final two that I was forced to select being huge.
So I assumed it was duping me, and tried starting with some larger ones in the hope that they would incur less additional requirements toward the end.
Nope.
They still incur lots of extras when nearing finalisation, and overload the simulation.

Thanks, though it'd be interesting to know the correct sequence to prevent it FORCING an overload upon the player - as with me.

edit: Forget that. With the correct selections you've presented, it'd be easy to reverse engineer from the prompts given. "Duh?", me.

I tried all three of the time-of-day options (which are the next presented choices after the initial two mandatory requirements) and all led me to an overload, where I couldn't find the single hidden option somewhere in the following fullfilment sequence which would prevent these always stacking up to finalise in overload.
