Sequel
Just finished the game and it was amazing like i liked it better than mgs and mad max combined, even though i havent finished those two games yet, but theyre not as great as i thought they would be just like batman, but on the topic now

The game does look like it could have a sequel, simon reaches the ark and something goes wrong there, i mean it does have that forest area and those futuristic building too, could be amazing for a horror game

what do u guys think?

What would the point be? I liked the game but i'd prefer more fresh ideas not constricted by being a sequel from these devs.

I would prefer a sequel be about Simon-3; after he was left alone when the ARK launched. Something there maybe.. I don't know. Maybe they could do some horror thing on the ARK. Or a whole new story. Like a different settlement of humans that survived underground somehwere in Europe or N. America.

They could be a DLC where you play as Simon-2, in an "if you didn't killed him"
That could be pretty good.

there has to be there was talk of this facility starting in the 60s while riding the tram from upsilon soo......

I think they could do a story dlc with all of the simons , whatever i am definately impressed by frictional games , maybe they could try something entirely new now except horror, i donf know, surely looking forward to what they bring new

I loved it too. I'm a big fan of horror sci fi and this was a real surprise to me. It's been an amazing ride and I can't wait to see what these guys put together next :)

Why a sequel? No point in that, the Story is finished. If you force a sequel just to have it it will never be as good as the original. There should be less sequels and more new ideas coming up in the gaming industrie. I loved Soma, but hope they wont make this game a "trademark" just to have good sales.

How about another game in the same universe in the same way Amnesia: MFP was a sequel to Amnesia: TDD

I don't think a sequel involving the same characters would be necessary. But other games set in the same universe (the SOMAverse) in different areas of the ruined planet and other facilities would be cool to explore.

yea i think they could go on about with some dlc or expansion packs with this game, but seeing frictional track record, theyve always done a game and then they move onto a new one, but anyways it would be cool if they did a dlc or expansion atleast.

there is more than one base this was posted on reddit http://imgur.com/JY3NYZy this texture file I don't think was used but it shows more then 1 base.

i really hope frictional is going to make something new and fresh after this. but i also guess it would be a prequel if they want to explore Soma further. either way i hope they never stop make us explore creepy places.
... what will be next ? personally cant wait for their next project.

Updated the link with the texture file from the game, but from what the map shows there are 8 locations total, someone else translated the other 7 names but the other facilities are called:

Hell
Sita
Rain
Depth
Carthage
Grasslands
Quantum

I don't know if you can find this ingame or is it left overs from the beta or alpha Soma but still there could be more Soma down the line.
