SOMA
Game Won't Start :( (problem now fixed)
For some odd reason, every time I try to start the game up, I would get the "syncing" thing that would about 1/2 of a second disappear. So I went to try and upload it on its file (both steam and non-steam version) and I would continuously get this error: (0xc000007b). Can you please explain what I have to do to fix this? I want to play the game and I want to enjoy it, so please help fix this prob or update it to remove it please :(

Just incase you needed system information (can provide more incase you need specific's), here's my info.

Well according to what you put, then shouldn't the game work for me?? And also I have a Windows 10 now so ignore the Windows 7 part. It's just the game won't open up regardless

You have to install visual c++ 2010 redist, http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13523 it is meant to be installed during the normal stean installation, but for some users it seems to fail.

Just tried doing that (both the remove and repair option) and it's still not working, I keep getting:

"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application."

I'm still unsure what to do, do you have any suggestions? I'm hoping there can be an update to fix it.... :(

I just tested other games btw, (just to see if I have to buy a new comp or redownload the installation) and it seems that this game (and previously, Dying Light) seem to be the only games that refuse to work. If anyone has an idea on how to fix this (or when SOMA will get an update), I'm all ears right now.

If not, I wish there was a refund option to just get my money back (which I know there isn't :( )

You can try and uninstall all the visual c++ 20XX you have installed by opening uninstall software in the control panel. Then restart the computer and try and launch SOMA again. This time it will likely give you a more specific error message, along the lines of missing something100.dll. Try again an install the visual c++ 2010 and re-try launching SOMA. If error remains, try installing 2008 and 2005 (SOMA uses libraries that in turn depend on these, but normally they are old enough to be installed system default).

I was getting the same exact error and it had something to do with me updating from windows 7 to windows 10. I reinstalled windows 10 (via the recovery menu and chosing reset this PC) and the game started without any further issues.
Hope this'll help you.

Okay so I attempted what Charyou3 did, by trying to reinstall windows 10, but when I did that, I loss A LOT of my stuff.... BUT, I did get at least 3/5's of it back (about 1/5's of it wasn't ever used or wanted), so the game is working now (i just tested it out) and I'm very happy to see that!

Thank you both Charyou3 and Gnoffah!, I'm going to try and play it later tonight :D

(If it makes it clear what was the problem, I assume it was apparently the visual's from 2008 and 2005 had to be "repaired" or fixed or something cause when I tried playing the game, just to test/see if it was working, it was reinstalling both of those so now the game is absolutely working).

Now that your key works for Windows 10, just download the MS media creator if you have to reload in the future. You can now do 100% clean install.
