SOMA
How can I use the PS4 controller icons?
I just picked up a PS4 controller today and wanted to use it in SOMA just because I can :p But i was wondering, how do I change the UI from the x360 layout to the PS4? The icons are right there in the graphics folder to use, but I can't figure out how to use them. Any help?

Officially you can't. Look for a mod, maybe one exists, or you can create one, if you want to.

What makes you think you can use a PS4 controller on a game made for a XBox 360 controller?

Because the game was made for PC and PS4? And the game supports said controller without the need of a third party program?
Eh, I guess it doesn't really matter, my potato can hardly run it anyway. I'll just wait until I can upgrade. Still, it would be nice to see the same icons.

We won't see a large percentage of games using PS button prompts because that would require either Sony to create a driver that lets the DS4 work using XInput OR it would require developers to actually take an extra couple hours to code in proper support for the DS4. Apparently both of those are impossible as we might see 1 out of every 20 new releases have proper DS4 support. It really is a pity. I think the DS4 is the best modern controller available and us on the PC side of things will most likely never be able to use it properly due to lazy developers and prideful corporations.

Was this a serious resonse with an honest question, or were you just kidding or being asinine? Either way, just pointing out the obvious that every button, trigger, and joystick on each controller has a exactly corresponding counetrpart on the other. Also, to answer your question, that most PS Controllers work by using DirectX to make the system/game think the PS controller being is actually an Xbox controller or by emulating one.

This is untrue. DS controllers do not "use DirectX" to function. Their not properly working with XInput (the controller portion of DirectX) is precisely why games on PC generally don't support the DS4. When you plug in a DS4, windows will indeed recognize it as a controller. But since the DS4 does not talk to XInput, which is what most developers use to implement controller support these days, it doesn't work properly.
