How long is the game & Any jumpscare in it?

Main reason I bought SOMA is that people say it has a brilliant story. I do enjoy good storytelling very much, but horror games is just not my type. I'm 2 hours into the game and so far I find the story quite Okay, with the entire creepy environment slightly preventing me from enjoying it.

So I would like to know, how long did it take you to finish the game? And is there any jumpscare in the game? Of course I'll finish the game whatsoever, but I would like to know what to expect ahead of me.

The game's 10-12 hours long! There are some mild jumpscares, but only a couple. I would say that the story starts to pick up at Lambda, & then just gets better and better from then!

IMO the best moments are shortly after Lambda, & when you're traveling at the end of the game. (Especially on your way to the ARK!!!). For me, it was just whenever Simon & Catherine had conversations, tbh haha
