This game is poorly designed, especially the water sections.
This is the second time I'm frustrated as hell because there's no map, no compass, no way of knowing where you are or what the hell you're supposed to do. A couple of days ago I ragequit because there were no clear instructions on what the hell to do after you pull the wires out of the reactor when trying to escape on the curie. You're supposed to find the curie first and get instructions on disabling the reactor but I didn't find the curie first, I found the reactor first and spent 30 minutes dying over and over again because I didn't know what the hell I was supposed to do there.

After 2 or 3 days I decide to give the game another chance. I escaped on the curie and now I'm back to walking around on the ocean floor with little robot buddy who welds doors open for me. I'm supposed to find a zeppelin to... Theta? I think it's Theta, but since THERE'S NO WAY OF SEEING WHAT YOUR CURRENT OBJECTIVE IS, NO MAP, NO COMPASS, NO NOTHING, I can't actually be sure. I found some pods, explored some stuff, found out that some guy named Akers went crazy. Okay. Now what?

Where the hell am I supposed to go now? I found some control panel that lets me use some kind of radar and establish contact through the use of a number pad that has numbers 1-8, but I established contact with all possible and nothing happens. I'm running around under water, I can't see ♥♥♥♥, I don't know where I'm supposed to go, I don't know what I'm supposed to do.

I want to play this game, I love the story so far, but this is some of the worst design I've seen in a game of this type. I'm glad I got it on sale for £2 because I don't see me ever finishing this.

Computer near the landing platform... Stop blaming the game for your blindness. Also, walkthroughs exist.

Yeah, what about the computer? I found it, I made a connection with all 3 of the coloured lines on the radar screen and nothing happened. There are no clear objectives here, it's dark as ♥♥♥♥ and I can't see ♥♥♥♥. This is not fun.

You found the computer AND the radar and you still can't figure out how to call the Zeppelin? Just proving the problem is you, not the game...

I found a computer terminal outside. It has numbers 1-8 on the right side and a small radar with 3 coloured lines on it on the left side. I made a connection with each of the three coloured lines by manipulating the radar and the numbers. Nothing happened.

Am I supposed to find something else before I do this? I wouldn't know, because the game DIDN'T GIVE ME ANY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ INSTRUCTIONS ON WHAT TO DO ON A DARK OCEAN FLOOR WHERE I CAN'T SEE A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ THING AND HAVE NO IDEA WHERE TO GO!

Computer. Near. The. Landing. Platform. Not at the opposite of it. Just before the littlest path to the landing platform. To the right of it. Yellow "on/off" button. Click on it. Revelations!

Oh yeah, the computer I found an hour ago which did nothing when I clicked on "echo" or "call" which I then forgot about during an hour of walking around on a dark ocean floor with no map. Maybe I'll take another look at it tomorrow if I can force myself to endure more of this dark underwater crap with no clear instructions of where to go and what to do.

First, you're searching for a Zeppelin, so I don't even understand how you can forget about a computer that has the word Zeppelin three times on the main page with "Request Transport". Second, the computer has the Zeppelins #049, #840 and #216. When you establish the connections with the antenna, you get what? Surprise! Either 049, 840 or 216. Did you figure it out, now? Because I don't think I can spell it out much clearer than that. The game is very clear, man, "just accept" that you're not good at puzzles.

I forgot it because an hour passed between me finding the zeppelin computer and the radar computer. Without a map or any way to see my location or the direction I am heading I wander aimlessly, going in buildings, looking around and so forth.

If only I had known to instinctively point myself in the direction of the other computer immediately after finding the first one, despite not being able to see it or know which direction it's in (because there's no map, no compass, no nothing, did I mention that?) none of this would have happened.

There are two (three?) maps on Delta. One is in the Auxiliary station, the big dome thingy. Another one is in one of the two flooded stations. Again, not the fault of the game if you're too blind.

SOMA is not designed poorly. Quite the opposite.

This isn't WoW. They aren't going to light up an exclamation point on a map telling you where to go. Sometimes you have to actually think about what you're doing, and put 2 and 2 together.

Why would your character have a map or compass?

:sentry:Well what do you want, the game to turn into "go here and click mouse1" or something like this...Basically thats why I like the game, because you have to think more than just "going somewhere and clicking mouse1"...:GoldDislike:

coz its kinda hardcore thing, u just need to folow the storytelling and check the most important objectives from the dialogs and other ingame things.
With radar game will loose the feeling of loneless. The entire part of the game will ruined.
Im afraid in future of new games we will get ALL marks on map, and ONE button to start and finish the game.
Yeah, this will bring arcade mode to all and ppl can turned off the brain at all.
