Do choices matter?
I just finished the game. I was just wondering if any of the choices I made along had any effect whatsoever on anything? Or were they just there for the sake of being there?

Also, are the survey results actually posted somewhere?

They only have an effect on your conscience.

For the first question, I'm pretty sure your choices have no direct impact on game progression. I can't think of any A-or-B options that changed future events (except for one that gives you some helpful but unnecessary occasional assistance).

The game's creators have said that their main intent was to use choices as a means of involving the player emotionally, with ethical dilemmas apparently being their preferred method.

As for the second question, there's an in-game display of survey responses, but I don't think the game uses outside data for the values. I never checked, but I'll bet they'd be the same on each playthrough.

Spoiler alert! This might be somewhat dead but since I cane across it it's still worth adding input. The choices seem to have an effect on conversation, but other than that I don't think so. I made the choices of flipping the power switch on the first robot with human A.I. you come across and not the power system. The second choice, I only unplugged one cable from the woman and left her to live and made the power unstable. The third, I remember is taking the cortex chip from the bigger drone that was talking and not your little fried who helped you. The fourth, I decided to let the duplicate Simon live instead of the the permanent sleep. The fifth, I mercy killed Lindwall and turned off her life support, as she wanted to die. The sixth and finale choice I believe, is I killed the WAU instead of skipping it. The only thing I saw was that again they just talked about some of the choices ypu made. I don't know if the survey had any affect, as I answered somewhat negatively after finding out I was a cyborg. It may change how Simon acts at the end but I'm not sure. He was upset at the fact he was in this place and that he was duplicated at the end. He wanted this self, to be on the ark. If anyone had nore positive or happier dialog at the space gun let me know.

I’d have to check the files again, but I’m pretty sure there’s only one ending at the Space Gun. I can take a look and see choices affect anything else, but it doesn’t seem to be major from my playthrough.

Choice is an illusion for any system operating from an algorithm. Personality is one such algorithm.

Sorry, I just felt compelled to to write that.
The choices only affect a couple of voice lines each. They're really only for the player to reflect on, you won't get different ending slides about post WAU world like a fallout game or anything.
The only choice that matters is whether you keep both arms at the end.
