Only 30% of the people finished the game?
I was looking at the achievements and only about 30% of people got the last one that is unlock by finishing the game.

IMO the story of the game was superb. Why is it that only a small portion of people finished the game?

maybe too spooky for some.

Also the game may have felt too liniar for some people during their first play through.
I have finished it twice and it will be quite some time before i do it again considering there are no alternative routes to completeing chapters, your decisions have no consequence on the ending or your experience really apart from some minor dialogue changes, and finally the puzzle solving wasnt really fun or rewarding. Its a good game and i would have no problem recommending it to someone but with the above mentioned if you couldnt immerce your self in the story i can see how some would not bother seeing it through to the end.

I just finished it a minute ago and can only say that I am sorry for everyone who didn't.
One of the best storylines in a videogame, ever

large amounts of people tend to not finish games in the first place. Its why a lot of developers make the ending so lackluster compared to the begining. Everyone will see the begining, but not everyone is gonna get to the end. A lot of them infact. Look at other games that have achievements for completing the story/campaign of a game and you will see a majority don't finish the game.

Understandable, but I can see OP's surprise since the story in itself kept me personally going.

I mean the game could have dropped all the puzzles and even the direct contact with monsters and become a walking sim for all I care, still would have been an amazing story experience.

I actually would sort of agree with that. Though I'd rather keep the monsters because they stop me from progressing and just annoy you. It's fun when they do that!

If you look at some games, some people never even get the first achievements because a lot might buy the game or have it gifted but never have actually played the game.

I'm at Theta and I'm finding this game a bit tedious. Good story, but tedious gameplay.

Really? Sad to hear that, maybe the game isn't made for your taste mate. :steamsalty:

Buncha sissies, that's why!

I kid of course

Really though, this is a pretty niche game and I can understand if it doesn't really "grab" some people like it did me. See above post. Just not for everyone, I guess. Which is indeed a shame because honestly the ending is what really propelled this game from "good" to "GOY" for me. It saddens me that apparently so few people make it far enough to experience it.

I think it's the lack of any maps. I understand why they don't give any, it forces you to check every room, window, hatch, etc and keeps the tension, but I can only go around in circles for so long before I become bored and then irritated.
I had to look up online how to get out of Theta maintenance.

as i said, maybe the game gender isnt for you mate, in a good way... actually the game is not the point, the story is what worth every second ^^

Anyways it wasnt a hard game to finish, at least for me, if u know Frictional Games ;)
