I only see making game into service like diablo, making leagues and seasons, with new "things" with a start of each season.
Check out Halls of Torment if you've been enjoying it; great Diablo 1 era nod with some fun equipment mechanics here, as well as Deep Rock Galactic Survivors (still in early access itself).
But to main topic: Depends how much they add closer to release? The proof of concept here is solid, but needs work in a lot of avenues to really sell me on it. Characters feeling weak, even after investment in God/Class buffs, and the graphics optimization with lots of effects/mobs, for one.
