More reliably, make your way to Teladi space and pick up a Kestrel, upgraded they get 605 speed, and if you mount it with Exploration Software you can give it the "scout sector" command. They also make good fast-runner ships. I use mine a lot by ordering it to Terracorp HQ and buy a new jump drive and run back, or pick up some Trade Command Mk3 or a few spare E-Cells. They're so fast nothing can touch them, can fly straight through the heaviest Xenon sector without a scratch. Low cargo, but mount a 1MJ shield and no weapons - it's not for fighting it's for running.
Just be careful to be OOS in some asteroid fields. The AI pathfinding can't always handle that speed, and will crash and explode. When you're out of system it doesn't calculate collisions, so it will never crash as long as you're not looking at it :P
