how do i get to the Aldrin system?

i've found the corvettes i want and located them in the Aldrin system. i'm almost at the faction requirement to buy them and want to buy 4 for the escorts to my frigate when i can afford it and i've checked the maps and found the Aldrin system to be somewhat space-locked :/

i've flown to the Gaian Star system which is a pirate sector and flown all over the southern end looking for a portal but can't find one. i've also flown around the unknown sector to the east of the xenon sector trying to find a path through.

i'm guessing these sectors can be accessed some how but according to the map, all are space-locked which raises the question how do i access these space-locked (no N,S,E,W gates) sectors around the Aldrin system please?

i've looked up on the 2 sites available with maps and it seems the xenon sector south of Gaian Star has a north gate, while Gaian Star has no south gate, is it the x gate i saw near a gate in Argon or Teladi space?

will try that when i play again later, just allowing it to gain cash so i can buy my combat fleet to continue combat missions while my traders then gain cash in background rather than afking them to the foreground. :-)

They are 'plot locked' afaik. I.o.w. you only get initial access to them via a plot. After that they are always a bit wonky in that normal 'combined jump behavior' does not work (setting 'autojump' in combi with 'dock at' for instance), but can be jumped to directly until gates are constructed via an other plot.

thanks will have to look into another corvette to do the terran missions with, since my brain injury i suck at games but still love to play them :/
