Can I run this even though my physical copy of "X3 Terran Conflict" isnt on steam, or do I have to add it?

Since X3: Albion Prelude requires the base game can i add the physical copy to steam and run X3 Albion Prelude?

I'm assuming you only possess a copy of X3: TC and not AP?

You have nothing to lose by adding TC on Steam anyway.
