Quick question guys? How big is 1 army unit in stellaris
I play Starwars New dawn and mostly Star Trek mods. But I never got when you recruited a single unit (let’s say stormtroopers) how big is that unit? With navy you can see clearly see scale but with army is one unit recruited like 1000 or 10000 men? Be cool if they added unit sizes or there was a mod that did that. Then you know how much man power is required or being used? Have a good one

Unknown, tho given a Single army can conquer a entire planet, Probly a Lot,

Given Default Armies recruiting is Pop=Army, i would argue whatever "Pop" is (While not Impacting said "Pop" production,)

They are anywhere between 12 kazageets, and 56 kazageets long, depending on which army you build.

That's how I always play it. Why not? You could also say it 10 million soldiers, but that's less fun.

They purposely never define it, just like how they purposely never define how large a "pop" is.

If i were to guess i'd say a pop is around a billion people (based mostly on earth spawning with 8-9 pops in the game and our current population being slightly above 8 billion)

And a assault unit being around 10% of that (based on the fact that you can recruit one normal assault army for each pop you have of a species and 10% of a population being military is a reasonable number you can achieve in war times).

Off course its just speculation.

Yep exactly.
I would say it varies by army.

For example, I have a feeling the Titanic Life armies use less individual soldiers than most other armies.

I have a feeling 100 Million soldiers in 1 assault unit would be a commander's nightmare.
i feel like a pop is about 1 billion people. 1 pop can sustain 1 army. so, 250 million? 100 million? up for debate. and changes based on army. titanic beasts are 1

For comparison I suppose you could look at WWII (if you find Earth as Machine Age pre-FTL) has all the armed forces represented as a total of five armies.

Doesn't really make sense, because all empires start with 24-32 pops. So a civilization that just discovered FTL is somehow managing to take care of 24-32 billion population? Even half that would be quite a bit of a stretch.

If you were the Yuht it might actually be one guy....
I base it off of the Army Strength (next to each army is a Power Level, much like ships and fleets.)
The Strength of the Army can be adjusted and modified by species traits and if there is a leader in the company or not. So I don't really think of it as number of soldiers, but Strength of the unit and How Strong the Particular Species of the army is.

There is no real answer to the question, since the game's representations are meant to be abstract.

But for myself, I go with the assumption that a pop represents 100 million beings. Since each army unit is tied to a pop, I like to assume that each troop is recruited from that pop and that a society could reasonably allocate 1% of its manpower to active armed forces. (Yay for the convenience of round numbers). Anyways... all those assumptions boil down to world-invading combat units of a million soldiers each. Conveniently, every % of damage inflicted in the combat phase then represents about 10,000 deaths.
