Have they fixed this? The game runs like ♥♥♥♥ past 100 years.

I'm into year 2420+ and it still on normal speed clicking off abut 1 day per second, which to me is fine for a 1000 system galaxy.

yes, go purge some planets, it is a necessary evil. call it a mercy killing.

Depends a lot on your pc and some on settings. There are some settings on game creation that specifically state increasing them can cause great performance issues.

Reducing those same ones can help if you are on a weaker system as well. My current game I am about 140 years in and it still runs fine on my ryzen 3600n
No.
Your CPU single core speed is really bad if you are chugging after 100 years.

It's better than in earlier versions, still not good.

it was playable for me on medium galaxy but I read online there are certain traits that can cause lag especially if an npc takes them and there's a disable for them in the settings menu if you have that dlc
Yesn't. Depends on your hardware, and how many mods you running.

I can run a 2k galaxy without performance issues with a certain mod (that specifically handles performance issues), but I run into errors with system naming unfortunately.

Recommend the mod regardless, it really does help, but its most noticable if you start a new game:

Remember the rules of 4X games.

Embrace becoming the Imperium of Man for the umpteenth time.

It may have been fixed by now but xenocompatibility is one of the worst things they ever added IMO. It creates this huge list of species that used to lag the game really badly. Even if it does not produce the lag anymore the huge list of species is such a pain.

I've never used xenocompatibility, and playing this game without mods after 2,200 hours isn't gonna happen.
Yeah turn off xenocompatibility, it only causes problems.
Been playing 1000-star galaxies with habitable planets set to x0.25 spawn rate for years now, and I've no idea what end-game lag everyone's talking about is.

you should be able to see it in your game comrade. After you get to year 2400, maybe around 2450, increase the speed of the game using the +/- keys. You will notice that the "fast" and "very fast" speeds are running at the same speed as "normal" and cannot speed up the game

your computer may just be strong enough to handle your universe at your normal speed setting
