Who else is hyped for playing as living planet empires?
Does this finally mean I can role play as the sentient symbiotic forest from Origins Spirits of the Past? I just hope biogenesis lets me fuse with other sapient species like the movie.

Also its a cool movie you should check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQxqpEUBA_0

Hype! Hype!

Also why no living plant ships? I understand we have "plant" ship types but those are littler more than a plant theme overlay onto a regular ship. Wheres the photosynthesis power generation, continuous growing size, etc.

Those would be the organic ships. Bark, instead of chitin, if you will. A more obviously plant-based shipset could no doubt be designed and implemented in due course, though. Suggest it to the developers over on the official Paradox forums.

Living planet wont be my first new civ as I want to get used to the new econ first, but will sure as athe be my second. The whole concept fascinates and I wish that kind of 'whole new economy and planet development' was what Nanotech tradition for machine civs had done.

i am reminded of farscape that ship was a living ship but did not grow in size. perhaps they are grown but mature and are as they are in size when mature.

that said it is a game with concepts that need to be balanced.

Moya's child did have to mature and grow before varous systems came on line though.

I want my planets to eat other planets to get bigger.
I'm curious how Colossus Weapons are going to interact with living planets?

Also, are the living planets mobile, like Ego and Morgo, or are they stationary?

Frankly the idea of organic ships growing is strange to me. You already have space fauna for that. Plus I've always thought of them as "tube grown soldiers, already adults" instead of weird babies you need to cater for. I suppose it makes them more different from alloy ships, but we'll see if that's good or an annoyance.

I don't use their official paradox forums but you or anybody else is more than welcome to bring it up there.
