Report a translation problem
I agree, an option to turn this off, would be a reasonable answer because it really gets annoying. I am surprised Paradox hasn't already provided that.
Oh, and there is a way to turn mercenaries off - when starting the game, just go on the right side of your screen, and check Overlord DLC off.
It's a bit of a band aid to a badly implemented combat system, ships have no real weight to them, they die too quickly on both sides and most of the time its "bigger number wins" which is hardly engaging.

Thanks for letting me know about this mod, our group leader is installing it because we all hate this system.
