Stellaris 2 time
To be honest, I own lots of Paradox games, but this is the first time I'm actually suggesting that its probably time for a Stellaris 2 built on a new engine. The DLC's just aren't cutting it anymore, and I am a customer that purchases DLC's for my paradox games. But, I just feel that Stellaris in its current state using its current engine is pretty much done for me.

We're on Stellaris 2 right now, after the revamp from the tile system and the permanent hit to system performance the game is nothing like what it originally was.

Still poor multithreading. No amount of optimizations is going to change that.

What is it you want exactly? Better graphics?

Better performance. Now-game is unplayable. Even in small galaxy.

What this game really needs is proper support for distributed computing. Galaxy getting too slow? Just add some more nodes.

Food for thought. Big jump from Crusader Kings 2 to Crusader Kings 3. That's what I mean by Stellaris 2. It's like adding a little ice to the beverage, making it a little more fresh :)

No point until there is a much better engine. Of course then the same people will complain about missing features for the next 6 years, and the number of DLCs. Then they will want Stellaris 3....

I want to see stellaris meets eve online combo. Not an mmo but I want way more pve content and exploration content.

I love this game but 90% of it is building stuff and moving ships from system to system.

Yeah... when your DLC is "how about the weather?" it's time to start thinking about letting the game rest and drumming up the creative juices for a sequel.

Doubly so when the answer is "hurricane Omega" that pretty much just gives the middle finger to any sense of game balance.

My hopes for Stellaris 2 would be the following:
-Multiple factions being able to reside on a single planet
-Religion mechanics
-More in depth internal politics and culture (Gaining a technology should be impactfull in a societal/cultural way, imagine if we discovered human cloning and society would just carry on without caring about its ramifications)
-Anthropological mechanics (I want to see gameplay ratifications of how space would effect colonial culture and there relationship with the mother planet among other things)
-This is a niche hope (if my hopes above arent already niche) I want the mechanics for a single species on a single planet to be in depth enough that one could have fun playing alone in the galaxy, like in Dune for example. I believe this to be a worthy idea because I see Stellaris being a sci-fi sandbox that takes notes from every sci-fi franchise to create a unique game, and since many such franchises take place where there is only 1 sentient species, I believe this to be worthy of addition, I also think it would be cool to play a game where you dont know if alien life even exists or not (Of course for this to be able to work, the internal societal/political gameplay would have to be complex and engaging enough to potentially sustain an entire playthrough)
-Better space and ground combat (also add water navies cause that would be funny)

I believe Stellaris should be about the grand story of the rise and fall of space civilizations/cultures/peoples, the fact the games go on for centuries should reflect this, and I believe would make for a more flavorful and complex experience that would not be rivaled by any game on the market. It should also continue to satisfy being able to play through all sorts of science-fiction stories and cliches, which I believe the above ideas would help achieve this.

You just need to look at the other games by Paradox. They support games for a long time.

and thats more an engine issue so they woudl need to make a whole new engine to increase multie threading
