Forming the Galactic Imperium kicks me out of the Galactic Imperium

I have to say this is one of the more insane issues I've come across. When I form the Galactic Imperium as the Core I get booted out of the community and locked out of doing anything with it.... the Galactic Imperium.... as the Galactic Empire.... which also comically results in like 100 alerts of diplomatic/war goal changes as well.

Anyone else have this issue or did I somehow break the sh*t out of this game?

I've got to assume mods are playing a role. Also seems like I have our essentially galactic-wide federation's election event popping right at the same time as the empire vote so maybe somehow that's messing with it. I'm honestly more intrigued than upset lol
