Why does the Khan have 5+ fleets with over 40k power?
Seriously? What the hell? He spawns on my doorstep and doomstacks me with the strength of a fallen empire. Surrender isn't an option since I'll get my economy nuked and lose all my vassals (is this a punishment for having too many vassals?). I don't see any other solution other than to just console them out or play a game without any marauders.

If I reject all of the possible options, I don't have any options!

Sounds like you drew a bad beat, and that sucks. But usually when there's a marauder next door, it's a good plan to have a fleet capable of defeating the Khan ready before the mid-game starts.

Fallen empires are much stronger than the Khan. The Khan's ships are not as strong as they appear, their tech is meh and their hp stats are bloated. If you can't take them head on yourself then you'll need to pull back and call for your allies to come assist. Also torpedo are stupidly strong verse the galleons.

The game is not over, and you don't need to cheat, just because the Khan temporarily takes a few systems. It'll slow you down sure but remember when you win you'll be getting all those systems and the systems they took from others if you're quick enough.

I'm quite surprised by this post as it's been so long since I've cared or noticed the Khan. I've said before that I think the Khan needs a buff I still think it does, or maybe have it scale with the crisis slider?

It already scales with crisis slider since one of the recent updates iirc.
He will absolutely roll anything over with 400k+ fleets in midgame on x10 crisis.
And sure those stats are bloated but I doubt you can compete with that without some extreme meta cheese.

I'd say the Khan is about as strong as it needs to be, the recent tech nerf has seen to that. If you can defend a chokepoint against the Khan, just let them ravage their other neighbors for twenty years until they fall apart and you can swoop in on the carcasses.

Can't you just surrender to him so you can stab him in the back later? also what year was this? in 100 years your average fleet should have 100k in fleet power.

he dies of aids automatically after like 10 years after he starts the rampage if you can't kill him

The raiders need to be defeated before they become the Khanate or whatever they call it.

Usually the AI won't even bother to back up their own troops, so you can build a decent fleet and knock off a sector one by one until they're dead. If you do see a fleet moving in to reinforce whoever you're attacking, get out and heal, they won't chase you.

They don’t have to, but doing so increases the odds of him appearing,

Some other information:
  • He spawned in the year 2312.
  • The marauders were placed in such a way that they could only attack other nations after chewing through half my systems.
  • Crisis strength was set to 1x.
  • Surrendering means getting major deficits to all my basic resources (50-100) along with losing my vassals who also supply me with a considerable amount of resources.
  • I'll admit, I'm not super skilled at stellaris, my whole navy combined was about 35k, maybe 40k including the starbase they were located at. But two fleets of 50k wiped the floor with that.

What year did he spawn? By the time he spawned for me I could fight him off by buying one mercenary fleet
xycotta Jul 11, 2024 @ 11:54am
Really your navy was too weak, You could of won still won by catching his fleets one at a time with starbase support. You have vassals, they weren't assisting?

Basically you would need to pick off fleets while building more ships.

I tend to have a relatively light navy until something causes me to need it, but I build high powered border outposts, so if someone attacks me they're likely to hit a brick wall. Maybe try making those?

Like I said, he spawned in 2312. I also don't have the DLC that lets you hire mercenaries and I think he bands all the mercenaries together anyways.

He almost immediately came after me with two 50k fleets at the same time. My vassals were also recently subjugated/too far to help/too weak in general.

Understood, retreat and wait for the two fleets to split then while building more ships, Not much different then fighting a Federation early game. You have to prune off fleets.
