no rare resources
I dont see any rare resources anywhere . hings that grow specifically on one planet and not others. Their is nothing different or special about the worlds. I find the planets side of this game really bland. What im talking about X planet is the only planet that produces a special fruit when turned into wine can be exported through trade or add to the planets trade value NOTHING like that that i can see.at least 20 % of the planets generated should have something rare on them.

generally you'll find gas/motes/crystals on some worlds. sometimes you'll find living metal, betherian stone or cute animals. there's a few other planetary features you can get that don't give resources but instead give bonuses to jobs on those worlds or sometimes give bonus jobs

What this person said. To be a bit more specific, sometimes planets have modifiers. If a habitable planet has a modifier involving food and you build agriculture districts as well as food-related buildings on that planet, you'll either gain more or less food there than you would on a different planet depending on whether the modifier is positive or negative.

But yes rare resources do pop up in systems as you survey. But they are "rare". There's a possilibity you might not come across any depending on how far you're able to explore and expand until you and the AI have taken up all the space. Fortunately there is technology available that will grant you the capability to build buildings that generate certain kinds of rare resources. Sometimes events occur that will provide a rare resource in a system you've already surveyed. Also, you won't be able to acquire these resources right away. There is some research involved for each one before you can build stations to harvest them but it's all very straight forward.

Ive played this game for 1225 hours. I find nothing exciting about the current resource system. NOTHING losing a planet is not because you can get another one. Im going grin and bear it and play the legendary worlds mod. the mod is close it tacky with the modiffers.

That is okay, You have played for a long time so you know how the game works. Its okay to be tired of it. I understand, I dont agree but I understand.

Yup, not worth it without Guilli's Planet Modifiers. Then you have other things like Planetary Diversity for the planets and Real Space for actual space itself.

I would just like to take a moment and point out this respectful response. Not enough of that in these parts.

Ryika I normally agree with you in most of your posts but there is nothing wrong with enjoying games with the professional designed limits. There is also nothing wrong with enjoying the variety and innovation mods can give you. But you shouldnt be insulting just because someone enjoys the game differently to you.

Mods break immersion if you are sensitive to that kind of things.

I agree that planets are somewhat bland right now, but I don't really see how "rare resources" would change a lot about that. In the end they would just be something that, I assume, takes up a building slot to harvest, and then you get some extra resources from it. Hardly makes the rest of the planet unique.

Gulli's Planet Modifiers solves the issue a lot better. That mod really does make every planet feel unique and different from all other planets.

if you get a planet that has let say an intoxicating fruit when turned into wine increases your trade value and make your people happy on the planet and happy in the empire. That planet has purpose and the lets say the ability to build 5 wineries 1 percent happiness per winery 1/2 that per empire You can trade that for favors and everything else with the luxury.

Indeed, there's nothing wrong with playing and enjoying the game the way it was designed to be played.

My post wasn't meant to be insulting, and I'm sorry if it came across like that. What I tried to get across was that I think his view is pretty one-sided, and that he's overly anxious and potentially losing out on a lot of fun, but pretending that it defines him as a person was probably not the best way to make that point.

no worries I really dont look much into other people comments. I know what makes me happy when i play. Ive played a lot of 4x games and some of the space games like DISTANCE WORLDS I found this aspect enjoyable. What i like is different from what you like. Yet if they added it to the game you would be right on board.

Well there are a horde of meteors headed for Earth right now which are large enough to survive our atmosphere and wreck the planet. So technically the sky is falling but not yet.

LOL i think that is a movie dave.
