Desync in coop game
So, me and my friend were trying out a new coop mode and having a blast then suddenly desyncs rolled in. First it occured during the game in around 2240~ year. RANDOM_COUNT started desync like crazy, we tried to rehost like 10 times before giving up and deciding to start a new game in smaller galaxy and less AI in hope that it would break the deal. But then desync of RANDOM_COUNT happend in around 2219~ year. What's the deal? Is it because of coop being in beta or is the whole patch compromised? Or is it something wrong with us?

having this issue as well, pretty much making it unplayable.

Coop is still very buggy, desyncs being a big problem. I have no problems with standard multiplayer, even with mods.
From Stellaris Dev Diary #301 - Galactic Paragons is out, what's next?:

Cooperative Mode and Out of Syncs

The 3.8.2 hotfix took care of a number of out of sync issues, but there are more to hunt down. The programming team is focusing heavily on clearing these up, so every bit of information we can get is helpful.

If you're running into frequent out of sync issues, you can help us out a lot by having the host add these startup parameters to their game:
-randomlog -randomlog_stack=5 -randomlog_frames=3​


Then, if you run into an Out of Sync, please post in the Bug Report forum[forum.paradoxplaza.com] and give us the Host's OOS logs as well as at least one of the clients that the popup mentioned. (OOS logs can be found in Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\oos near your save games.) Any details you can provide about what you were doing at the time is also helpful.

This setting has some performance implications (which is why it's not on by default), but if you're running into OOSes reliably, it can really help us track them down.

If you are able to participate and provide the kind of feedback they are looking for, I imagine that it will likely be helpful and benefit everyone who plays multiplayer.

You'll need a Paradox account, and you'll need to log into it before you'll be able to create new threads.

I tried that, but button to make a thread won't appear.

Coop is pretty much unplayable. It desyncs nearly every 5 minutes. I'm really shocked that this wasn't discovered before it was sent out in an update.

Unfortunately, I am not able to provide any additional information to help you resolve that problem. You could try contacting Paradox support or customer service, or you could browse Paradox's forum to see if there is information there about how to create a new thread.

Some things just aren't easy to test before sending out, it's the reason betas and alphas exist. Paradox doesn't really have a way to test Desyncs since they'd be testing using computers that are all hooked up to the same internet router, meaning it's basically just LAN. You can't really Desync with LAN... at least afaik.

Its been 3. So far its gotten worse.

Tried to play multiplayer with a friend earlier today, after about 30 mins the game started to desync. didn't help use the resync as it just went out of sync again right away. quite annoying.
Yeah, the Desynchs in multiplayer are irritating AF.

Hosts keep leaving before we get to choose our Ascension paths.
