remap keys?

Is there a way to remap the keyboard controls? As a lefty, I don't like using WASD. It's very uncomfortable. I'd like to be able to remap the map scroll keys to the number pad.

Shortcuts are in the interface files. At least there are the keybindings to close windows or accept windows and so on. Dunno about the main controls like WASD though.

Maybe take a look into the files and search for
shortcut = "e"
for example

If you want to change the keys, check the folder "\Stellaris\interface".
Search for 'shortcut = "x"' (if you want to rebind "x"). You can also check the matching ".GUI" file. Planet_view.gui for example contains the keys for the planet view (duh). I switched "z" and "y", because I have a German keyboard.

Came here through google.

I searched in every .gui and .txt file under "\Stellaris\" with Grep utility on Linux. Found some key bindings, but couldn't find anything related to "WASD" and mouse buttons.

The only keys you’ll ever use are Space and M so what does it matter?

Unfortunately the only/easiest solution afaik is to use a program like autohotkey to remap whatever key you want to use to the WASD equivalent when you play the game.

I don't mind using WASD, but I do mind having to move the cam with middle mouse button. Would gladly change it to right m.b.

p.s. I play on linux and I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to remap the buttons for Stellaris temporarily with a Bash script. But I'm feeling too lazy for digging-googling into that instead of playing another game. Maybe some other day or week or month.

Heya, just to say I'd love a key mapping panel (sorry if it looks like a necrothread, but it is not, as it is still relevant today). I love that we had so many great updates and DLCs but it would be very appreciated to have a proper ingame method to remap keys. Or a default AZERTY mapping for AZERTY keyboards, especially for ZSQD/WSAD in my opinion, in order to move the camera more easily without having to switch from AZERTY to QWERTY from times to times.
